A lovely spot

I had a very pleasant 5 night stay at this CL. Previous reviews are quite fair but I would just make a couple of points. The dogs that have been mentioned were not a problem in my experience. They are a good distance away and although you can hear them they did not disturb me in any way. I was able to drive right up to the tap in my 6.5m motorhome to fill up. You have to reverse back around a bend in the drive but in a modest sized vehicle this shouldn't be a problem. Oh, and don't follow the satnav! The site is on the main road and well signed. Have a quick look at Google maps for clarity. I really enjoyed my stay .. thank you.

A good CL

We stayed here for 5 nights in October. CL is clearly signed off the main road (don't follow your sat nav up a farm lane!) We did have to ring the owner on arrival from the barrier to be let in but that was not a problem. Very friendly owner who gave us a warm welcome. The site isn't big but more space than on a club site. Everything is well looked after and clean. The views are great. Shower and toilet a little walk, basic but clean though no heating in shower room so a little chilly for October! Surrounding area has lots to see and do with children, ours especially enjoyed the nearby RAF museum. Would recommend this CL.

This is a beautiful little site with easy access to lots of attractions. Good welcome, friend helpful owners and view like a Constable painting. Clean facilities. Will be going again.

Lovely

We enjoyed this site. The surroundings are beautiful and its a good base for visiting the local area. The owners were friendly and we liked the electric barrier for security. The field slopes in places and we did hear the dogs that others have mentioned but these small issues would not stop us returning. Good value at £15 per night.

Beatuiful View

I phoned and spoke to the owner the day before I travelled to clearify where the site is. Follow their detailed direction and not your SAT Nav. It is close to the M54 and access to the site is excellent. Plenty of room to pull off the road before the new barrier to the site. Someone from the local workshop let us onto the site as the owners were out. Once there they showed us round and I can confirm the shower is very generous and all looked spottless. I didn't use it but it looked very tidy. Had to fill the motorhome with watering cans as the tap is not directly accessable. But really carrying the watering cans was not a problem as the site is small. EHU worked fine. The grass is like a lawn and there were no clippings left to get tramped into the van. It is sloped but with a chock on front and back one side I got it the levelest that I have ever had a caravan or motorhome! It rained on and off during my stay (3 nights) so I didn't bother with getting the chairs out but sitting on my step with my breakfast listening to the birds, watching the sheep and rabbits and enjoying the view was just priceless. There aren't cycle routes near by but by car there is plenty to explore. Shifnal and Albrighton are lovely little towns to visit. Do make sure that you have cash or a cheque to pay for your stay as the owners clearly state. The owners are very kind and would help in any way they could. The barrier is new and I think that it works very well. As a lone female on the site I felt very safe, plus there house is near by. I would stay there again for the view and the peace.

no sleep this time

returned here for 2 nights on our way home from Wales, wanted to drive straight home but was so tired so booked up 2 nights here as it was so nice again, just a shame i didnt get any sleep here this time, dogs barking and howling all night, and at 5.45 am it was really bad, never got any chance of sleep after that, when our friend asked the owner she said the dogs was there for the hunt, and they got excited at feeding time, she thought it funny when he asked them not to feed them so early, thought this site was too good to be true, we wont be returning,

DO NOT USE SATNAV, perfect site, couldnt fault it,

what a great little site this is, easy access, but do not follow sat nav or your end up in all the tight single track lanes behind like we did causing mayhem to all the locals down there, once we found it what a lovely site it is, had a nice welcome with the owner showed us everything, toilet and shower is spotless and the best shower ive seen on a cl site, good views over the fields, very close to RAF Cosford so perfect site if visiting there, we will next time, only 1 night this time as off to Wales, only 5 mins of M54 so perfect stop off to Wales, the lawn is lovely and cut nice tho on a slope but cant have everything, would recommend this place, we will be back and for a longer stay next time, Thank you from Rhys, Neysa & Lucy

well kept site

This is a well kept site with the main field being closely mowed - more like a lawn. However it is on a slope and in most parts leveling blocks will be needed. A bit spongy in one or two places after very heavy rain. Owners welcoming & helpful. Easy to get to and well positioned for trips to Wolverhampton, Telford & area; David Austin roses just down the road. Some daytime noise from aircraft from Cosford - but interesting to watch. Some slight noise from main road. On the other hand in three days I saw over a dozen different birds from the site, without really trying. Waste water, & toilet emptying just off the end of the site down a small footpath. Similarly very clean shower & toilet in an outbuilding just off the field. We are now motorhomers and in some ways this site is better for caravans. Fresh water fill up involved driving up the drive towards the house where the tap is, and then reversing back, including round a corner. Because the grey water disposal is just down a footpath, and so inaccessible, we obtained permission to drain into the neighbouring field. This is the reason for the overall 4* We had a pleasant stay, were able to do what we had set out to do, and would consider booking again if in the area.

What A Lovely Site. Definatley in my top 5 site

This site was just perfect . The Lathams greeted us on arrival and they were so helpful and extremly friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The site itself and amenities were kept spotless. Yes its a bit sloopy in places but we were lucky to get the flat pitch nearest the drive way. Very slight noise from the road but it didn't bother us at all. Found somewhere to walk our dogs straight out of site entrance and into a field, although the mrs Latham said it was ok to let them play on the site. Ideal location for us as we were attending the Midland Game Fair at Weston Park. Have even booked again ready for next year and are staying longer.
