A great site for peacefulness. Facilities are everything you need. Surprised the site was not more full. Cathy and family was very supportive and welcoming. I will be back again for another weekend away
Fabulous first time away
We chose Whitehouse Farm for our first time away with our caravan as it was far enough from home to feel ‘away’ but close enough to return if we had forgotten anything.
It was a beautiful, tranquil site with everything we needed to have a very pleasant two night stay.
The owners could not have been more helpful, the site is beautifully maintained and it was magical to be tucked up in the trees. Our dog had a wonderful time squirrel watching.
We certainly do not feel we could have chosen better for our first foray into the world of caravanning!
So expensive for what it is...
I was initially only going to stay for one night, but my cat did an escape and so I had to stay for two more nights. At £25 a night you would expect a bit more. The owner came out only after I had knocked and thought she wasn't in. Took my £25 cash and didn't explain anything. I needed water for my MH and had to drive around looking for it. After asking a few people I managed to locate a bit of four by two with a tap on it and no signage. Ok that wasn't so bad. Annoying but OK.
My cat decided not to come home that evening and I panicked the next day asking if I could stay another day, giving him the chance to come back. It was as if I was asking for the moon. The owner then came on the phone telling me how silly I was, letting him out of the van and made me feel about 3 years old. Her comments were neither helpful or useful, just hurtful.
My cat still hadn't come back the next day, so I rang and asked for another night (and the site was pretty clear by this time) and she talked to me like I was a complete fool. Anyway I was right to do that. He did come back, after me being so upset and thoughts of losing him completely.
Apart from that, the road is very noisy, the site is quite frankly unremarkable, the facilities are basic to the extreme and it is expensive. So expensive. At £25 per night, there are better places to stay.
Lovely quiet site
Upon arrival, went t the house as requested, wonderful warm welcome awaited me, everything was explained about the site.
Hard track to the site and hard standing if preferred. Can park in two different locations within the site, one in a wooded area the other in an open field. I chose the open field. The grass was mown, a bit damp in the mornings, wellies required if dog walking around the big field where deer come to graze during the evening and early mornings. A lovely sight to see wild deer so close at hand.
The waste bins and chemical disposal areas were clean and tidy, water taps within easy reach without dragging water barrel a long way. Big choice of where to park near a hook up point.
All in all, a lovely quiet site, I shall return again next year and recommend this lovely site.
First stay
This was our first stay at this lovely, quiet CL. On arrival we made our way up to choose our pitch which as I was told was the sunny one. Pitch as are well spaced and surrounded by woodland. We heard owls and was told that deer often come in but we missed them. Mrs Grant was very helpful and welcoming with a lot of local knowledge. Chichester caravans is opposite and your a short drive to Uckfield. We would defiantly recommend and will be back.

A beautiful peaceful site surrounded by fields and woods
We spent a night here to give our little granddaughter an adventure in the caravan. We were delighted with the site. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating, and the surrounding fields and woods are lovely. Uckfield is just a few minutes drive away and we had an excellent Sunday brunch in Café 212 in Uckfield High Street. We highly recommend this site for anyone looking for a quiet, clean and spacious location with electric hook-up, water supply and chemical toilet disposal.
Just love it here.
Well, after another 7 nights here I'm fully relaxed, been coming here for more years than I care to remember but always enjoy coming back. Very nice hard standings with electric, with water and elson not too far away. Always nice meeting Mrs Grant again. Try it out, but save me a pitch.
A very nice CL
Loved this site, clean, tidy and very well laid out.The owners were welcoming and provided us with lots of information. We sat out late into the evening and listened to the owls as well as the deer calling their fawns. Priceless. Uckfield is close by for supplies etc. Avoid the Ringles Cross pub, unless listening turbo powered swearing by other clients is your thing. The Chequers at Maresfield is much better. Lots of very good walking in the area, Ashdown forest, Isfield along the river and Buxted Deer Park. One of the nicest CLs we've visited this year!
A Truly Lovely Site
June 2021
This is a working farm, not that you would know. Cathy and her husband have made this site truly tranquil. On the drive to the site past the farmhouse there are fields on both your left and right which you can walk around. The site has pitches for sun worshippers or those requiring some welcome shade under some beautiful well established trees. Pitches are spread out and you have lots of room to enjoy the peace and quiet. The recycling bins are well organised and the water and waste disposal are away from the pitches and everything was very Covid compliant.
The forest walk around the site was lovely, The site is a short 15 min walk away from Ukefield, which has plenty of independent shops as well as a Tesco supermarket.
Lots of walks available to do straight from the site. The Indian Restaurant/Takeaway which is very close by is not to be missed. Brighton is easy to reach and lots of places to visit, that's if you actually want to move from this peaceful location.
We will definitely be going back.
A real hidden jem
We spent a week here on a much needed break. We were greeted on arriving and totally reassured as to all the Covid precautions in place by the owners and visitors. The layout of the facilities are very well laid out and well cared for. Our labrador enjoyed her forest walks helping the squirrels scamper back up the trees. We woke one morning to find dear grazing next to our caravan. Although a working farm nothing disturbed us except a little road noise at rush hour.
Uckfield is a 5 minute drive away, We visited Eastbourne, Beachy Head and also had a day out on a sunny day to the Weald and Downland Museum . Being fans of The Repair Shop we were lucky to see the BBC filming that week and took photos and spoke to several of the cast members. Definitely will return to this site as soon as we can.
