excellent little site, what a find, arrived on a monday lunchtime to see all the weekend visitors had gone home so on our own for two nights. site is well cared for and in a brilliant position what views. Richard and his two dogs were very friendly especially isla who came calling every day on her way for a walk. speaking of which there are numerous walks straight from the site and to take advantage of them i would recommend buying the map which is on sale in the barn. the other thing mentioned in previous reviews was the noise coming from the holiday let which  did not happen during our stay even though there were quite a few people in there, all in all a well recommended site

Wild Weather!

What a fantastic CL. It is so peaceful and the views are magnificent ........ unless the weather is bad but we did choose to be high up the Peaks at the end of March!! The second half of the week was glorious and there is so much to see and do, the kids loved it. Richard, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful and we would highly recommend this site to anyone, whatever your interests, not just walkers and cyclists. We will be back. Thanks Richard (ps. great prog rock CD!).

Brilliant little CL

What a fantastic little CL. Lovely and peaceful and quiet yet a perfect location for the Tissington Trail and the many walks in the area. It is an easy short walk from the site to Hartington for good pubs and grocery stores + Post Office. If you take bikes then cycle up the Tissington to the High Peak Trail. Cycle all the way to Middleton Top then pick up the Cycle route 547 sign posted to Tissington via Carssington and Bradbourne. Follow the route until you arrive at Tissington and then cycle back up the trail to Heathcote. A round route of 29 miles. Site has lovely views and basic but adequate facilities. The usual tap and emptying point on the field but a in the barn opposite are the recycling bins and information including some useful weather proof maps of the are for sale for £4. Also in this area are a selection of books and magazines - a nice touch I thought. Some pitches are quite flat but for others levelling blocks a re needed. Turn into entrance gate is very tight so take care particularly if you have a large unit. Perhaps the owner could make the gateway a little larger or make it a double gateway to make entrance and exit easier. We were lucky enough to have the site to ourselves for two nights in early October. For anybody who loves the outdoors this is a perfect site. We'll definitely be back.

Loved our stay

Our holiday stay at whitehouse was great . Nice walks easy to get to and for bikes the view is lovely and so still . The last night we got a treat the best lighting show ever over the hills . The cottage was full and we never heard a peep out of the people which were there . We will be going back soon . Great holiday .x

Lovely site

We spent 2 nights here on our way home from the British Grand Prix. It's one of the quietest CLs we've stayed on, there was no traffic noise whatsoever! The views from your pitch are fantastic, I suppose it could be a bit flatter, but it is in the Peak District after all so we coped with a few levelling blocks here and there. We only phoned up on the day we arrived and Richard said no problem come along, so we did and had the site to ourselves. Access to the delights of the Peak District is on your doorstep, I'm sure we'll be back.

No problems!

Having read the review about the noisy hen party, we arrived with some trepidation as there was obviously a party being planned in the barn. Fortunately we had a super weekend as the party in question was a family party that involved pirates and BBQ's, and did not affect us at all. A meal in the local pub was also a success, although a little pricey for the area. Would definitely return, but would probably check first to enquire who was using the barn.

Almost perfect but be warned.

We had a lovely first few days of the 7 we had booked on this site. It started quietly and peacefully. The owners were friendly and welcoming and the views magnificent. Just what we wanted. Then the 'Hen Party' arrived having rented the farm's self catering accommodation right opposite the CL field. The noise was horrendous. For two nights, sleep became a memory. Too old to party until 0430. Would only revisit if no stag or hen parties expected.

Comment from Community Manager:

Many thanks for leaving a review and we are pleased to hear you liked the site, which is in a superb location with lovely views. The CL owner has contacted The Club as they are really sorry to hear you had an issue whilst at Whitehouse Farm. This is very unusual and there are not normally hen or stag parties staying in the cottage which is normally occupied by families or couples. The CL owners were away at this time and if they had been on site they would have dealt with the situation and ensured it did not affect your stay. The CL owner’s friends were looking after the site in their absence and if mentioned at the time to them they would have spoken to the hen party to make sure they didn’t disturb you again. Please be assured this situation is very unusual and has not happened before. This is a normally very quiet and peaceful site. I hope this helps to address your concerns.

Great Bike Rides

Stayed for a week in May. Nice welcome from friendly owner. Very nice quiet site with great views. Only noise was quad bike rounding up sheep in adjacent field. Plan was to do some bike rides and this was an excellent location with access to Tissington Trail a few hundred yards up the lane. Access at this point down a fairly steep pathway so care needed. We rode the Tissington Trail and High Peak trails from site. Also rode the Excellent Munsall Trail near Bakewel, taking bikes by car. Local pub quite a long walk away but worth it when you get there. Lots to see in the area. Would love to return sometime.

Amazing

Sept 2013, Just got back from spending a lovely weekend at White house farm. The site is very peaceful with it being tucked away in a little hamlet, the views are breath taking, the owner is friendly and very helpful. We will be using again.

Wonderful, peaceful and breathtaking

This is a fantastic site. The owners are so welcoming and friendly. The views are amazing with the Tissington Trail just a few yards down the road. Pubs nearby and beautiful villages and the stunning Dovedale just down the road. This is also near to Bakewell of the famous pudding! A perfect site for relaxing, exploring, walking and cycling.
