NICE CL WILL STAY HERE AGAIN.

Happy with our stay at this CL. It is a working farm & the CL is a large field, plenty of space. Nice and quiet. The toilets are good and there are good recycling facilities. Easy access to water & chemical disposal point. We arrived after heavy rain but the motorhome was fine, parked OK and more importantly moved OK the next morning, by the time we arrived back in the afternoon the ground had dried out. The only thing that spoils this CL is the pile of hardcore at the side of one of the barns, but that would not put us off staying again. The owner is friendly and helpful. We struggled to find the CL as the address says Stilebridge Lane, on reading the directions in the handbook it states that the entrance to the CL is in Underlyn Lane, we didn't read this - only ourselves to blame for getting lost. The CL sign is not very easy to see from the road. Overall a nice site that we will visit again if we are in the area..

Spacious area. Friendly owner. Good facilities.

Barbara welcomed us on arrival - lovely lady. New toilet block, very useful and clean. Unfortunately the site is next to a very busy road, the traffic (including lorries) starts zooming past at 5 am weekdays (so if you're going only at a weekend, wouldn't be too bad). We found it much too noisy and left a day early due to this and the power cutting off and on for most of our stay (though I'm sure Barbara will get this fixed quickly as she is very efficient and easy to talk to). Quite far from everything but if you just wanted to go for pleasant walks, this would be fine.

Kent Mega

We were down in Kent to attend the geocaching Kent Mega being held at The Hop Farm nearby but we decided to stay at a CL because we prefer the peace and tranquillity that CLs offer and this one fitted the bill perfectly. Lovely big wide field, dog walking on site, plenty of wildlife around to watch and Barbara was so welcoming and helpful. Kent is a gorgeous county with lots to see and enjoy and have planned to go back and we shall stay at Whymans Farm for sure. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend to others. Thanks Barbara and it was lovely to meet you. Jackie & Derrick

A Few Days in Kent.

Stayed on this site the week before last for three days. Barbara's son was in charge while she was away for a few days. So we were very much left to our own devices. Not a problem. The site is a large open field and pretty much flat. We were sort of 'passing through' this time but would go there again. The only complaint was the horrendously jammed roads around Maidstone. Never did get there. Uckfield is a nice town though and we had a lovely day out on the Bluebell Railway and just around the corner, Sheffield Gardens (NT)

My first CL visit. What have I been made missing?

Just spent a four day break here and really had a good time. This was my first time on a CL and didn't know what to expect. I had been talked into trying it by a fellow member.  My journey, to the site was a very challenging one as operation stack was one and the M20 and surrounding roads full of displaced traffic. I soon forget this as I drove along some nice seanic countryside, gentle twisting roads humpback bridges and various duck ponds. This changed with roadworks that closed the road. Wasn't on any traffic warnings. The diversion took me down a very narrow single track road with little passing places. I wasn't flavour of the day I can tell you and I wasn't happy with the scratches I gained from the hedges along the way. But on my arrival, this all disappeared.  I found a lovely field with was realitively flat ( a few rabbit holes to avoid ). I was greeted by Barbara who was as friendly as could be. She said I could park and set up anyway I wanted. When I explained that hers was the first CL and I fact the first grass pitch I had been on, she offered good advice and said to contact her if I need anything. I was advised of the local area and places to eat and get supplies. And also told where the footpaths were and that I was free to wander in her fields as well.  There was a power cut in the area that lasted a for a day and give credit to her, she made the effort to keep me informed and checked up that everything was ok.  This is a lovely place to stay with a truly genuine person that cares enough to ensure that you enjoy your stay but let's you get on with it. I will return and for longer next time. Highly recommended to others to consider staying here if you want a relaxing time.

Super CL

Just back from a short stay at this excellent CL. We were warmly greeted by Barbara on our arrival, and she really couldn't have done more to make our stay pleasurable, even coming to our aid in resolving a small electrical problem.  The site is near to a main road which carries some heavy traffic, hence the 4 rating for peace and tranquillity.  The site is level.  Really it is level, so much so that we didn't need to do any adjustments when we arrived on site.  There is a pretty good pub at the end of Stilebridge Lane, where we had a very good Sunday lunch.  Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and Scotney Castle are a few miles away.  The Kent countryside is a pleasure for walking and for an afternoon drive. Finally the gateway is wide and easy to negotiate, and Barbara and her team have worked hard to ensure that the entrance roadway is in tip top order. We shall certainly be making return visits.

Wonderful Break

This was our first tryout of a CL and what a pleasant surprise. Really enjoyed our Easter Break. So peaceful. Barbara gave us a warm welcome. Beautifully kept site. Nicely spaced between hookups. Clean and tidy facilities. Maidstone was well worth a visit plenty of shops. Excellent Indian Takeaway in nearby Marden. There was a really lovely Pub at end of lane they made us and our small westie very welcome and we had a lovely Sunday lunch there. So Whymans Farm is definitely on our return list.  Well done!

Our first CL

This was our first visit to a CL as we are relatively new to caravanning. We initially booked in for a one night stop over in order to visit family locally, however the site was so lovely that we decided to stay for two nights. We received a very warm and friendly welcome by Barbara who pointed us in the direction of the pitches (although it was very clearly signposted). Very well kept caravan area, grass was kept and all facilities very clean and tidy. The site was very quiet and peaceful and just a short walk to a nice little pub. All in all a lovely CL and we will most certainly be returning. Thanks Barbara.

Great Stay

We recently stayed at Whymans Farm CL for 9 nights Barbara was very welcoming and helpful we had the site all to ourselves as it new (best keep secret dont tell will you). We were visiting family and will definitely use the site again. From here we made day trip to most of the Kent coast, and Bexhill that’s well worth a day out, with lots of pubs to eat out in the surrounding Kent countryside. Whymans Farm is a new CL so come on book in and get them on the map. It’s a lovely site, flat easy access, local store in Marden village just a mile away, with Maidstone just up the road. Another good trip was Chatham Historic Docks, to do it justice you need more then one day but the ticket last for the year , lots to do for young and mature young bus pass folk.

Peaceful CL

We recently stayed at this CL for 3 nights & had the whole site to ourselves. From our caravan we were unable to see any other houses apart from the owners. This site while is not the most scenic we have stayed on, has a lot to offer, a large flat field with the usual disposal points which were well thought out.If fishing is your hobby (as it is mine) this CL is app. 5 minutes drive from a fishing lake complex which is a day ticket venue. This CL is in the heart of the Kent countryside, so if peace & quite is what you are seeking, a warm welcome awaits you at Whymans Farm.I should mention the reason we had the site to ourselves is due to the fact it has very recently opened , therefore not fully established yet. So in short, please support this CL site you wont regret spending a few days here.
