Witherage Farm CL is a large flat adult only site within a 15 minute walk of Cheddar Village and 30 minutes walk to the Gorge itself. The site is very well maintained with large well kept level grass or hard-standing pitches, EHU, drinking water and chemical toilet disposal point. Owners Mick & Jen are very pleasant and helpful supplying a small booklet on our arrival with a map and local information which we did find useful. The location is adjacent to the main A371 Cheddar to Wells Road so there is some traffic noise which is to be expected. A lane & footpath past the CMC site opposite makes a nice walk into Cheddar Vilage and is virtually traffic free. The gate past the house is usually open (which it was during our stay) and the lane is directly opposite. The village itself has a few shops and a couple of supermarkets (Sainsburys 10 mins & Tesco Express 15 mins walk) but the Gorge area has many gift shops and eateries. If you want a nice larger town with lovely shops, a trip into Wells is a must. If needed, buses depart from the village (Market Cross) about 15 minutes walk from the site. We stayed for 5 nights in early August and will certainly return again soon. Highly recommended.
