Quirky and Bonkers

What an absolute gem of a site, we can't wait to go back and see what George is building next. There are many works of art around the sprawling site, some still under construction but to relax inside a cool pyramid on a summers day whilst enjoying a glass of wine takes visiting a CL to a whole new level. The toilets whilst a short walk from the field are totally modern and very clean, and the roman statues indicating lads and lasses are just another inspired idea from George who deserves massive recognition for what he is building here. Go and enjoy this quirky bonkers site and give George a pat on the back.

Fabulous site

Last night we stayed at Wonderland Gardens. We would highly recommend this site. George, the owner was very welcoming and the field where we stayed was lovely. However, the best bit about Wonderland Gardens are the incredible structures. They are so unique and quirky. Many are only just started and we can’t wait to come back and see how they have developed. Especially the new maze and Treehenge! We just loved the pyramid! George is so creative and inspiring. Please go!

What a lovely welcoming site!

Stayed here recently and was greeted by the owner George, who was lovely, very helpful and welcoming. The site is behind a setting of garden ornaments which are created by George and a friend and the whole site is a credit to him and what he is creating...a labour of love is going in to this quirky project. The vision he has is inspiring and I can't wait to go back to see the end result is a few years time... There is definitely an air of tranquility and would make a lovely setting for weddings or spa's!!! George even booked us a table at the pub and dropped us and picked us back up later that night, you definitely don't get that very often these days... Please give this site a go, the price is really good at £18 per night for a motorhome, the toilet is basic and there will be a shower block in the future. Electric hook up and TV reception is good. Keep an open mind and enjoy the surroundings... it really grows on you. George has a real passion for Wonderland, and its lovely to see that its not always about everything in perfect order its more about enjoying the environment. Good luck and we will be back in the future.

Satisfactory stay

As we drove into the wide gateway we were welcomed and directed to the pitches in the adjoining field where we were met by George the owner. The field was wide and long and the EHU's were at the bottom of the field furthest away from the road where there was little road noise especially at night. This is a developing site and Garden Ornament centre which George runs on his own and some parts are a little scruffy but this didn't detract from our stay. The toilet/washroom is close by behind the cafe and the light is always on while the cafe is open ,which is often quite late.On the Saturday night of our stay there was a Festival evening and all on site were invited .There was a local musical performance and a variety of hot food was available at a reasonable £5/head.The evening ended approx 11.30 pm.Our thoughts on the whole is that in the Bridgnorth area this was a very reasonable stay at £15/night especially as Stanmore Hall right opposite is approx twice the price. Will definitely stay again.

Disappointing experience

We were given a friendly welcome by George, the owner, as we drove into the site, which is in fact a small garden centre specialising in garden ornaments. The camping field is to the side and is adjacent to the main road so was a little bit noisy. The field is quite big but the EHU pitches are a bit close together at the lower end. At the edge of the field are a few piles of garden material, which gives an untidy feel to the place, and access to water/waste is also a bit basic, being at the side of some unsightly containers. There is a toilet/washroom at the back of the cafe belonging to the garden centre, and is adequate though my wife was left in darkness there one evening as there seems to be no light switch. Overall we found this site not up to standards of many other CC CLs we have stayed on, and not worth the £15 pitch fee. We did in fact move to the nearby Stanmore Hall site after one night.
