Good location

Stayed for a week. Very easy to find and a good location for places of interest. Stunning views and the site is very well kept. The facilities looked spotless, however, we prefer to use our own. The site is located just off the main A380 and there is constant traffic noise, which is quite loud early in the morning and later into the evening, so a bit confused as to why some have rated 5 stars for "peace and tranquillity"? No pressure to pay-up the minute you arrive as the owner is often about.

1st time CL user and what a great impression

This was our 1st time visiting a CL site. Our Motorhome and well behaved Jack Russell spent the weekend at this wonderful site. The cleanliness layout and easy access gave this site a wow factor as we approached. The views and walks from the site were stunning. There are Country walks across fields or down lanes and a short hilly walk into the next village for several pubs shops and Newton Abbot horse race course only a little over 1 mile away. What a lovely lady and she had her husband working hard to maintain the well kept site. We took an easy bus ride to Teignmouth with the dog. We loved it and would go back time and again.

Great site with very warm welcome

We've just returned from a six night stay at this well-kept site. We are seasoned CL users and know how varied they can be - this site rates very highly indeed. Access couldn't be easier, the views are lovely, it is immaculately kept and Heather is very warm and welcoming, taking time to speak to us several times during our stay to ensure everything was well. We didn't use the bus service but we did go by train into Exeter on the beautiful Riviera Line - it took just 30 minutes and as there were four of us travelling, it cost a grand total of £8 for a return trip! We would certainly use this CL again.

What a 'GEM' of a site

This CL is brilliant. Very well thought out and a bonus having your own tap so we bought a hose to save moving the aqua rolls. The views are brilliant. Thought it would be noisy on a night as the road is not far away but we were so wrong, it was very quiet. The toilet and shower are enclosed in a lovely wooden building and are spotlessly clean. Morrisons is just 3 miles up the road so handy for essentials. There is a walkway into Newton Abbott and a very good bus service (every 20 minutes) that runs from the bottom of the road. Heather is very friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our 12 night stay and hopefully will go back despite it being more than 300 miles from our home. This must be one of the best CLs we have stayed on in the 28 years that we have been caravanning. Will certainly recommend to friends. The pitches are gravel and grass so awnings can be put on either. The site is very tidy and well kept.

Woodlands stay May 2013

This was our first stay at a CL site and we were not disappointed. The facilities are clean and well appointed (the single shower/toilet with the blind takes a little getting used to). A few minutes walk to the bus stops with regular buses to teignmouth/newton abbot. If you are walking then suggest grab an OS map of the area as main road very busy. Old walls vineyard in bishops teigton is worth a visit - check availability for tour. The owner is very personable and friendly A very good CL site

A Winter Visit

We stayed two nights while visiting our granddaughter who is at university in Paignton. The site is a nice size, with easy access and well-spaced pitches. Great to find water as well as electricity at each pitch. Cassette waste disposal is fine, but general rubbish disposalluding recycling, could be better. The large hut used for toilet and shower is excellent, but really too cold in winter - if showering, you'd need to be brave! I had expected the pitches to slope a bit, from the picture, but really they're almost flat, and very wide. We were in a motor home, and our granddaughter picked us up in her car, so not sure about access to places of interest. There is a bus stop within walking distance, but not sure about buses. I think staying for a more holiday purpose would require some prior investigation of buses and places to visit. The site is certainly quiet, but access from the main road is close and very easy. Nice views, too. The owner was not there when we arrived, but came later and was friendly and helpful. We may well use ths site again for the same purpose, but not, I think, for a holiday in the area - we'd want to be better located.

Quiet & Tranquil

Lovely site, views are very countryside, nice to wake up to the sun streaming in through the windscreen! Only stayed 3 nights but next year will stay for the week. Mrs Heather Small, the owner was very pleasant and made us feel welcomed. Had a nice day out in Teignmouth, look in on the Ship Public House, by the quayside, great local mussels!

We will be back

Gorgeous views from this site. Very friendly, they go out of their way to ensure your stay is a good one. Easy access not far from the main roads. Excellent for walkers only a short drive to the coast and Dartmoor not far away. You can walk from the site into Newton Abbot. Being close to the main trunk roads it is quite easy to travel to various locations, Teignmouth just down the road is a lovely small seaside town.
