Fabulous Site

This is one of our favourite sites. Beautiful scenery, no road noise, just peace and quiet. The owner is very friendly and helpful and is very relaxed about where you pitch. There is so much space we felt we had the site to ourselves. The only down side is the access road is very narrow with limited passing places, however this wouldn't stop us from visiting again as it is well worth it when you arrive.

A piece of paradise in Shropshire

Beautiful site, just perfect. Walking from site to The Lawley, Caer Caradoc and others. Local pub walking distance does a good pint, but we didn't sample the food. Church Streeton close by with all its attractions. Site slopes but nothing to be worried about. A few levelling blocks were available. Facilities basic but perfectly acceptable. So quiet. Amazing views. Mrs Evans helpful and friendly but not at all intrusive. Very dog friendly. We fully intend to return. Best CL we've stayed in.

A little gem in theShropshire Hills

We stayed here in June 2022 and realised we had found a lovely place. The field is large so there is plenty of space for each caravan. The place was spotless. It is only a short drive to Church Stretton and the Long Mynd. The proprietor was very friendly and came to greet us. In the evenings we watched red kites and buzzards flying around. There is a very old pub atCardington but we did not actually visit it. At night we could not hear a thing and the night skies were beautiful because there are no buildings. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A Little Piece of Heaven

I write this review, with mixed emotions, as I am revealing the location of one of my favourite CL’s, but I think others should know about it. Woodside Farm is a little piece of heaven, located in the peaceful Shropshire Hills, it offers many things for the lovers of the British countryside. Its is just such a relaxing and quiet location to get away from the stresses of daily life. The site offers great views towards Wenlock Edge with the Clee Hills in the distance. Visitors always get a warm welcome from Pat and the family who simply wish for members of the club to enjoy their break. On site there is a very nice B&B ( AirB&B for booking ) so if you want to bring some none caravanning family along with you, here is your option. The grass is kept short across the large site. The 16amp hook-ups are along the edge of the field, allowing for wide spacing when in use. There are two water taps available with good pressure. There is a slope on the site, and some of the pitches need levelling blocks if you want to be orientated in a specific direction. We have easily got on and off the site with the caravan in damp conditions with a bit of care. There has been considerable improvement on the entry to the site, with the installation of a new cattle grid and gates, answering the comments made by earlier reviewers. There is a small garden style toilet for use by caravaners, just by the CDP. Remember to take your torch. The final approach of around half a mile from Gretton is narrow, with a few passing places, but is very very quiet and we have navigated it easily with a large single axle van. Certainly a traditional CL, with a warm welcome, and with so many people there who return for further visits. You only have to sample it to realise why they do. "We will be Back"

Peaceful site

I feel I must mention this, if you have a large unit or coachbuilt motorhome the 2.5 mile lane to the site is very narrow both our mirrors were hitting vegetation, and there's very few places to pull in if you are in a meet situation. Having said that if you make the effort it's a lovely peaceful site and Mrs Evans makes you very welcome. Thank you Mrs Evans for your kindness

Peaceful and relaxing

Spent 3 nights here over a bank holiday weekend in our campervan having booked at short notice. Proved to be a great find! Mrs Evans was very welcoming and site had all the facilities we needed. Site is large grassy field. Slight incline. Levelling ramps recommended Village pub just over a mile away. We did a couple of bike tours which gave a good overview of the area. If you want a peaceful and relaxing site I would highly recommend.

A Little bit of Paradise

We stayed on this generous site June 2019 and it was chosen for its close proximity to Church Stretton town and hills, Ludlow and Shrewsbury. We were not disappointed. Be warned that the approach road to this site and the double gate arrangement at the end of the farm drive is challenging but worth it, as it is the most peaceful and beautiful location. What is there not to like about this gem? The local pub/restaurant The 2Royal Oak in Cardington is first class (but book a table) and they welcome well behaved dogs (and people!). Mrs Evans, the site owner is charming. The toilet facility is quaint and you will need a torch for late evening trips . . . but then we like quirky things! We recommend the peacefulness and amazing views so take your binoculars ! We will be back for sure !

Peace and quiet but pleanty to see and do

A lovely site with friendly owners. The only downside is the access which is through very narrow lanes. Although longer we found the route from Longville slightly better rather than that from Leebotwood on the A49. Once there it is ideal for those wanting a quiet stay but it is also near to Church Stretton, Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Attingham (National Trust) and Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd (National Trust) - there is no shortage of things to do for a short break. Blocks required but ground reasonably firm, access to the field can be from the driveway restricting the amount of time on grass. No doubt we will return.

Can hear a pin drop

We've just returned from a long weekend, absolute bliss! Owners very friendly and welcoming and leave you to it once they've checked your ok but are there if you need them. Directions good. Don't do as we did and opt for a possible short cut - some very narrow lanes with steep inclines. Site on an a gradual incline so need blocks. double EHU's at 2 points around field. Fresh water point situated in among the hedgerow, took us a while to find it. Waste and rubbish on opposite side of field. Only one recycling box so we took ours back home with us as we didn't want to overflow the box there. The peace and tranquility is idyllic and the scenery well you couldn't get bored looking at the scenery - stunning. The only noise you hear is that of the occasional cow mo-ing, sheep ba-ing and in the distance the occasional sound of a tractor or combine. Literally we could just hear the sheep and birds and at one point it was that quiet we could hear the farmers cows chomping on the grass - can't get more quiet than that! Lovely meal at the pub about a mile away - Royal Oak. Saturday nights we were told you need to pre-book as they get full and there are only four tables outside in the small cobbled courtyard - luckily it was a lovely summers evening so we were able to eat outside. Food is very good and a testament if in the middle of nowhere it's full. Nearest shops of any kind are in Church Stretton which is 6.5 miles away on a pleasant weaving B road with lots of stunning scenery. This is a really beautiful part of the country, it surprised us as we weren't expecting it to be so green and under developed. oh and we had the added bonus of the Red Arrows flying low and slow over us on the Sunday perhaps on their way to a show and then low and behold they returned on Monday to give us a repeat performance on their way home! We also saw two aerobatic by-planes on their way somewhere and they gave an impromptu barrel roll and loop - this happened both days too. We hope to return and plan to stay longer next time to enjoy the full beauty of the surrounding area. Thank you Mr / s Evans for a lovely stay.

Peaceful and beautiful

This is a lovely CL in a spacious sloping field with far reaching views towards Wenlock Edge. Cardingmill Valley and Caer Caradoc are nearby. Definitely recommended NB if approaching from the North, and following the directions given, pass through Cardington before turning left for your final approach towards the site. We turned left before Cardington which led me to do a fairly testing 3 point turn with the caravan.
