We are usually ralliers and out in our van every weekend so the stop of rallies due to the social distances was clearly an end to our social life, but with Club Sites and CLs still open for a while we set about looking for somewhere close to home. This site was recommended by another CL owner who was full. I booked the site twice, firstly by Facebook but not sure it had gone through also via email, but Claire replied early next morning with confirmation. This whole area got very damp during the bad weather at the start of the year so being a conscientious caravanner I walked the whole site before moving off the hard standing entrance way, the site was soft around the edges, I thought I was spot on but was a couple of meters too close to edge and sunk a little. We where almost set up when the site owners husband came and to meet us. I never got his name, it is so odd not to be shaking hands and introducing ourselves. I apologised for sinking and probably leaving a rut where our tyres were, he was more interested in making sure we where set for the weekend and offered to help us to another part of the site, we where far to close to the end of cocktail hour to move! Before leaving us to set up he asked if we had everything we needed, we had come prepared for a weekend with little contact so where all set except for a lack of eggs, no worries we have eggs. Sure enough by breakfast a dozen fresh locally laid eggs where waiting for us in the sites onsite cabin which is also a washing up / prep area. Looking at the site in the light we also released they had mowed it just for us as there was no one else booked on. We did not venture from site for the whole weekend but there is some lovely countryside and what looked like some good walks from site. We will definitely be back in the summer when things are back to normal.
