Countryside gem!

A couple of miles of country lanes outside the popular Devon market town of Newton Abbot nestles the wonderful Wrenwell Meadows. Immaculately kept, there are three hardstands, 2 of which are totally flat, (blocks for the third), plus plenty of manicured grass for summer options. The single loo and shower are cleaned regularly, and really good value with twenty minutes of hot water for a single pound coin. That’s long enough to wash the whole family plus next door’s goat! 🐐 With good television reception, the only downside we could find was that mobile phone signals were weak (EE & O2) leaving internet browsing difficult in daytime hours, although OK early and late on. The bird feeders, display of flowers (and veg), and great attention to detail, like recycling bins, make for an above average site. We really liked the place and certainly intend to return next year. Thanks and well done, Claire. 👏🏼

well spaced site

We have just had a week at this lovely site which is well spaced out it's a very large field with electric points scattered around. The grass was well cut and shower and toilet very clean but we used our own facilities. There's plenty to see in the area even if it rains which it did but the field never got muddy. There is a large barn in the field so some pitches may have a more restricted view but this can be solved if you have a long electric lead. There was the occasional car but it was occasional. The drive to the site is down a narrow road so please follow the book as meeting another car or tractor is quite hair raising! However don't let it put you off as we never encountered much traffic. Pity there isn't a photo to show the size of the field.

Near perfection

A well maintained site, well cared for by Claire. We have spent 14 nights here and loved every moment. Nice to have good space, lovely views, quiet surroundings, goats, sheep and horses next door to keep us entertained us a bonus. The toilet & shower facilities are tge cleanest and best kept on any CL we have visited. Well done Claire.

Lovely site

We stayed 3 nights here on a hard standing pitch. There are also grass pitches if you prefer.. It’s a lovely site with friendly owners. Clean toilet & shower (£1 for 20 minutes) plus ehu. Very quiet area, but not far from the coast or towns. Access ok from most directions for us (6 metre panel van), but definitely use the recommended directions if you have a large moho or a caravan. We find more & more CLs are now offering some facilities like ehu and showers, at good prices, so we are using them rather than club sites. We would thoroughly recommend Wrenwell Meadows if you like peace and quiet. We hope to stay again!

Short stay

Only stopped for 2 nights at the end of a three week holiday in Cornwall! Delighted to find a perfectly peaceful spotlessly clean and well equipped little site. Plenty of room, lovely facilities and a very pleasant host who was helpful with road routes for a caravan. Easy access to the resorts of Brixam Torquay and Paignton. Will definitely return.

Get away from it all

Lovely, tranquil site with great views of the Devon countryside. I had asked for a hard standing on booking but these are on a first come first served basis and had all gone when we arrived. However, I am glad that's how it worked out as we had a super pitch with a superb outlook. The shower block is kept very clean and the grass is mowed regularly by Claire, who gave us a warm welcome and was very friendly and helpful. Easy access to Dartmoor and the coast. The local village pub, The Union Inn, was well worth visiting and the food superb. Dogs were welcome. Highly recommended.

Sheer Bliss

We arrived at Wrenwell Meadows and met Claire, who was so kind, friendly and helpful, even lending us a book on local interests. Her site is simply wonderful, within 2 hours of arriving we were planning on booking for staying again next year! It is so immaculate, the land and the facilities are spotless, so well kept, it is fabulous, you can tell that Claire puts a lot of love and effort into keeping her site simply magical. So quiet and peaceful... a pocket of peaceful green land for stepping out of time and the business of life. It's lovely looking out of your window and seeing the animals, horses, goats and alpaca in the next field and the sheep across the road..all part of country life..love it!! The local pub in the village is just a couple of minutes walk away with amazing food, and dogs welcome. Loads of places of interest a short drive away..and it is a small walk to Denbury ancient Hill Fort, which is visable from the site. The area is packed with amazing history...so interesting. Would we stay again...Yes! Have we booked again...Yes! Would we award it 10 stars if we could...Oh Yes!!! Thank you Claire for sharing your beautiful land. Pat and Willow x

One of the best sites we’ve stayed on!

We had a really lovely stay at Wrenwell Meadows, which was our first visit to the site. We have to say it was one of the best sites we have stayed on. The site was spacious and very well maintained. There are toilet and shower facilities which are cleaned daily and are spotless! Claire was friendly and helpful, and even made our daughter feel really special on her 5th birthday during our stay, by leaving her a card and gift…so thoughtful!!! Adjoining the site is a field with a number of goats, hand reared sheep, an alpaca and horse stables. The owners were equally friendly and helped to make our stay really special. A lovely site for a family. Great location too and we found the site easily. We’ll definitely be back, thanks so much Claire.

Lovely quiet and rural site with facilities

For us this is the perfect CL. Friendly owner and beautifully kept site. Clean facilities (shower + toilet). The site is in a quiet rural valley about a mile off the main A381. The nearby pup, Union Inn at Denbury, serves great pub food in convivial surroundings, including a large outdoor space in front of the pub. The approaching lane has plenty of passing spaces and, at least while we were driving it, really quite quiet - expect to see 1 or 2 other vehicles between the A381 and the CL. We really enjoyed our stay here. Many thanks to Claire.

a mixed bag

Access to the site and the village of Denbury is down a narrow lane. It surprises me that probably 500 houses are accessed by this route, but this is Devon. Please only use the route that the owner sends you as others are impassable with a caravan. Personally I found the lanes a downside of the site. On entering the field there is a large barn in the center and a livery stables on the left. The pitches are arranged around the barn that contains stored caravans and machinery. The grass was well cut and the road way well maintained. When we were there (in covid19 period) there were 2 gravel pitches next to the stables and 4 pitches against the hedges. There are electric hook ups and a clean and well maintained toilet and shower. When people arrived to tend their horses at the stables in the morning and evening, they are sometimes noisy with children and dogs, sometimes quite. If I return I would avoid the gravel pitches and the livery stables. In the evening owls can be heard and seen from the caravan window hunting around the site.
