We recently stayed here for a short two night stay. As previous reviews an excellent CL on a flat private grass field. Each pitch is on a hard standing with enough room for a standard awning. Each pitch has its own electric socket and fresh water and a light. There is a discreetly placed Chemical waste disposal in one corner. The site is located at the entrance to the North Yorkshire Water Park. The single track road from the A170 is ample wide enough for a caravan and has lots of large passing places. The water park has a large lake with cafe offering water sports such as sail boats pedalo's open water swimming and a large inflatable assault course. The remaining lakes offer trout and coarse fishing. Fishing is located close to the campsite with a day ticket costing £8. The log cabin at the entrance to the fishery has a toilet. The site was lovely and peaceful with lots of nature on the doorstep owls, rabbits etc.The village of West Ayton is about 1.5 miles drive away (or 5 minutes) with a Spa and fuel station, Fish restaurant , fish and chip shop and two pubs. I can recommend the Forge Valley pub! Scarborough is about 15 minutes away by car. A great spot for a relaxing and we'll certainly be visiting again.
