Tips and advice

We stayed at Abbey View over Easter and were slightly unsure as to how safe and convenient it might be for London sightseeing as a family. Here are our tips and advice for others thinking the same; - we used the A2 from Dartford crossing which was reasonably easy to find but ignored satnav - caravan pitches are all spot on and all are almost level. We used small blocks but really not an issue - very secure - very clean and well equipped - 10 mins max walk to Abbey Wood railway station for trains into London every 10 mins - we felt very safe during day but walked back before it got dark. Probably not a problem but we are not city people so we’re likely over cautious - train goes into London Bridge from where you can pick up a tube - we got Oyster cards from station at £5 each and spent £10.20 per day using range of transport - train from Abbey Wood into Greenwich takes about 15 mins from there you can get river boat into London which is excellent. Use your oyster and you won’t spend any more than the cap limit of £10.20 per day - wide range of restaurants in Greenwich but not much in Abbey Wood. We walked to Indian one night which was nice - site really quiet on a night - we will definitely come back it’s very very good for London - if your unsure about safety as we were you’ve just got to be street wise and cautious but as the week progressed we felt much more comfortable and had no concerns - little cafe in Abbey Wood does brilliant breakfast Give it a try you’ll love it
