Excellent site, near to lots of facilities and places of interest in the nearby Ayrshire countryside. Easy walk into Ayr especially for folk who need to use a mobility scooter or similar. Down side since last visit is the toilet block which could do with an update, very clean but just outdated now. We have a motorhome with an awning and had a problem with pitching! Hard standing with awning was fine but the marker peg was in the middle of pitch and apparently the rear (Driver side) of the vehicle had to be lined up with the  white peg (same as for a caravan). Therefore our awning was partly on the strip of grass beside the pitch, whilst the first part of the pitch to the drivers side was completely unusable! Pitches are of a good a size and surface but not much use if part can't be used with a motorhome. The warden explained that this was due to the six metre rule because of fire regulations which we understand but surely there can be some compromise depending on ones outfit! After 26 years as members have never been faced with this problem before! Otherwise an excellent site and we will be back, maybe a rather over zealous warden at the beginning of the season,

Nice Site

We have just returned from a nice weekend at this site. The site itself is well laid out and in an excellent location within walking distance of Ayr town centre where there are a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants and the beach is close by. The site is within easy reach of the Island of Arran as well as Glasgow and other nice towns and villages on the Ayrshire coast. The site is surrounded by trees and offers peace and quiet there is also a decent play area for the kids. The toilet block is always kept clean and tidy although it is now looking alittle dated but still it is kept to a high standard. Overall a great site that I would recommend.

Lovely relaxing site

Set close to many places to visit, this site is set in nice grounds with pleasant walks around it and close to the town. The town is a bit tired and rundown but with so much else nearby to visit it make a great site to stay at. Clean, well maintained and pleasant wardens.

Lovely site

Spent 3 nights at the site and it was really nice, the wardens keep the place looking really good. The only downside is the water pressure in the shower blocks and for a prime site this really needs to be sorted out as it's quite poor. Other than that a great stay  It's quite a sheltered site with tall trees around the perimeter keeping out the gusty winds making the interior of the site with just a gentle breeze. The location of the town centre is really close by and if you take the short cut through the university site you can be in the town centre in about 10 minutes. Ayr has a new shopping centre just behind the railway station, which was convenient, we also used the station to get into Glasgow and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend the site and will return

One night in Ayr

A very clean well organized site, we were there just last week, the site was nearly full, but very quiet at night, again very helpful wardens made us feel very welcome, only spent one night here so didn't venture further afield than the town centre which is 10 minutes away walking along the river. The town itself is looking a bit tired, but has all the shops that anyone would need for some retail therapy.

lovely site

we were very surprised at the location of this site? we were expecting to have to travel into Ayr, but it is only about a fifteen minute walk & you are right in the town. it is a lovely site , with very friendly wardens to welcome you in. we will come again in the summer, although we had very nice weather even though it was well into October when we were here

Ayr Craigie Gardens - Sept 2015

We have stayed here many times en-route to the Cairnryan ferry. The site is close to all the amenities that Ayr has to offer. Site facilities are perhaps in need of an update but always clean. The wardens must have had a great display of flowers around the office giving a lovely welcome on arrival. I agree with comments made by others about lunatic drivers but must say that this applies to All sites. I feel the CC tries to do all it can to address this problem. Short of installing speed cameras I'm not sure what else they can do. Good site for dog owners, with good walks within easy reach.

Good old Craigie

Stayed here Sept 15 on our months tour of Scotland usual well kept site toilets a little dated but clean, excellent for families as plenty to do and see, excellent for doggy people as so many walks from site & a stone's throw to the shops if that is what floats your boat.  Aldi & Morrison's very close by for shopping we didnt use the car, we went on foot. I do agree with (suecaravanlover )  alot of people do not stick to the 5MPH rule, and this is not just on this site !!!!   Yes a accident waiting to happen !!

Ayr Craigie Park

Unbelievably quiet site. Very clean and tidy. Enjoyed the squirrels. Especially good site for dog owners as walks are amazing and never ending. Facilities were not the most modern but perfectly acceptable and also very clean.
