Having heard both good and bad reviews of this site we decided to spend a few nights at this site on route, when we arrived on a Sunday, the queue was’nt too bad and the wardens seemed in control, however all was not well beyond reception! We were given a useful map showing vacant pitches but when we drove around the site we found many more available pitches and so we reversed and parked on a vacant pitch and went back to reception to advise the wardens of our pitch number. We were then told we had to be on a pitch for a shorter vehicle less than 6.5 metres in length, so we drove round a second time but we ended up being held up by a big argument between a caravanner and a motorhomer who both wanted the same pitch, so the warden got involved and there were a few unhappy campers! We then decided to reverse on pitch 12 and get sorted asap as pitches were being taken up and the pitch length issue was new to us! Once pitched up and connected we noticed our neighbouring motorhome was a European model and was parked with its rear corner on the peg, so we ended up sharing the same external space, very awkward! To summarise... we were on a short non awning pitch sharing a gravel parking space 6m x 3m with another motorhomer next to a noisy pub for £29.50 a night, daylight robbery, to top it all the Wi-fi was useless. We actually tried the pub next door but the food and lager was below standard. The area around the pitch we had was noisy until nearly midnight every night and there were vehicles coming and going at 5:00 AM every morning, also the toilet block is definitely too small for the site with only three loos and three showers for male and female blocks, so you can’t leave things too late as a queue is inevitable. All in all the site is in a good spot to visit Bristol but its cramped, not dog friendly and it’s definitely a noisy area and there’s a lot member tension on site and having outfit doors facing each other on neighbouring pitches doesn’t help, worst CAMC site for us in years, it’s off our list.
