Enjoyable Stay

Good directions from Web site, easy to find and straightforward. On arrival met by staff who were friendly and informative. Had trouble with the electric Post but it was sorted by the staff quickly and efficiently. Seen some reviews re the noise of the trains but it wasn't as bad as I expected as it was an electric line, yes you can hear them but not a distraction for us. As with all club sites it's pot luck which pitches are available as some have much better views than others. Easy 20 minute walk into Berwick and can recommend Lemoncello Bistro for good food and value.

Berwick Seaview, Spittal.

Good access from A1, but be wary, if your outfit is badly loaded and is nose down, it is possible to ground on the change of incline when entering the site. Most pitches have a outstanding views over the Tweed estuary to Berwick. If you have a long van, be aware that some pitches on the higher level are short leaving the van rear very close to the access roads when pitched. Walks are great whichever direction you go. Berwick is an easy walk (20 minutes) to avoid parking problems. Spittal beach and promenade are great for children. Site well maintained and clean. On our stay some pitches were coned off for some reason, and one male shower was out of service. The trains are in a cutting behind the site and we did not have any issues with train noise, Sadly we missed a steam special. Do not let the negatives put you off this site, it is a treat. We will pick the off-peak times for our next visit as pitch prices can periodically be relatively high for this site.

A Lovely Seaview Site in All respects

I stayed here for three nights in the week leading up to Easter.I loved the sites location and it was, tidy, very well looked after and all the facilities were spotlessly clean. I liked the idea of 2 white pegs on the pitch to facilitate accurate parking. Have not come across this before. It was so nice to see so many daffodils around the site and other colourful plants I was told later that the wardens had planted lots of bulbs last year before the site closed, and primroses this year. The site is on a hillside giving a panoramic view of the walled town of Berwick, its bridges, the Tweed estuary and harbour entrance, to the left and ahead and to the right the site overlooks the community of Spittal with its promenade, long sandy beach with the North Sea beyond. Yes there is a railway line partly visible behind the site but the trains only made a swishing sound which I did not mind at all. The bonus was when a steam hauled special train came past and I was there to see and hear it. This site is a great centre for exploring, not only Berwick-upon-Tweed, but all the attractions within a 25 mile radius, and there are many. I shall definitely return.

Very noisy campsite if you get a pitch at the back - very disappointed

Ive given this 2 ticks as the site was very clean, I had to give it one tick for noise but really did not want to give it any... I had a tiring weekend due to the trains and went home unhappy due to the shower block cleaning timetable. The term seaview is one that's slightly misleading -the site is pitched at the back of a housing estate, you can just see the sea from some of the pitches. The pitches at the back of the campsite are very noisy as they are next to a high speed railway line -we arrived on Friday evening and the trains ran every 30 minutes up to 1am Saturday and re-started at 6am -so we had very little sleep and the motor home vibrated when some of the trains passed. The trains did not start on Sunday until 9am so we slept in which was problematic as we found the shower block and toilets were closed between 10.30 and 12 - so could not use them for a shower etc, I think the timings of closure need changing - especially as the site closes between 12and 1pm - ie if you are leaving you need to be off by 12 and no arrivals until 1pm -that said on Sunday we could not have shower or use the toilets as we had to leave by 12. The pitches were all very clean and well maintained -we found out later there were pegs at the centre of the pitches you needed to park your motor home between - we weren't told about these on arrival and only knew when we were rung at 4pm on Saturday - to tell us to move our motor home -this move made using our awning fairly impossible - I also didn't appreciate the site manager following us up (when we returned) 15 minutes later to check we had done as we were asked. Whilst on the phone I asked to be moved due to the trains, the lady I spoke to seemed to know this was an issue but couldn't move us. Location the site is at the back of a housing estate and about a 25 minute walk to Berwick town centre - Berwick is quite nice and we had a lovely day there but if I went back I definitely would not use this site -it was expensive and we should have been told about the train noise.

Sea View and Peaceful

Arrived just on 8 pm and were given a friendly welcome, quick check in and found our pitch easily as site not big. We have a small motorhome so getting about this site was no problem. As we arrived in the dark we did wonder if we would have a sea view but on waking the next morning to sunshine we looked out from a high position over Berwick and facing the sea, beautiful. The site is peaceful and friendly and walked dogs through the site and down to the town and to the small port which was not far. There was a train line right behind us but this was quite soothing and trains not noisy. The site is above an housing estate and there is a football pitch just below the site but all was quiet and friendly. The site was very tidy with great facilities. This is one we will visit again and can see it getting very busy in the summer months.

Fantastic Site with Great Staff

We arrived on the first day of opening and what a warm welcome we received from the ever friendly Christian, Flo and their team. The site was immaculate and obviously much hard work had gone into tidying and cleaning it and then opening it all up. We really enjoyed our stay and wish you all the very best for the season ahead. Thanks Christian for all of the technical advice too - Mr Gadget!

Some pitch types need to be reviewed

Our third time here, its a good overnight stopover for Scotland. We were aware of the trainline and general location which others found offputting as the views made up for that. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and facilities clean and well maintained (why is it that shower curtains have not returned since Covid???) Having booked late we had booked a standard with awning but on grass, and were allocated pitch 62 and told to park parallel with the road. Luckily we were only there one night. Our van is small with only a roll out awning, but we could not have used it as there was not enough space between us and the road which served the MSP and other pitches. There is no way a full sized awning on a larger van would have fitted. Pitches 56 -58 are similar and all need to be designated (and charged) as non awning pitches.

Good for visiting Berwick.

Accessed through a housing estate and unfortunately backs onto a train track so not completely peaceful. Limited opening times for the office made buying tokens for the laundry facilities difficult. With 4 wardens on site would’ve expected longer opening hours. It’s a good walk into Berwick but with a bus stop outside the site if it’s too far for you.
