Perfect location

We stayed for a week at Easter. The site is so well maintained with lovely staff. The site was very quiet as only hardstanding available at this time of year. Beautiful walks, bike rides and location. Could hear woodpeckers, owls, saw ponies etc. My children loved being in touch with nature. Look forward to returning.

Good to be back in 2016

Watch out for pot holes on track down to site.  Some very deep ones.  High speed bumps too. Go slow as possible.

Our First Caravan Club Site

Very clean & friendly staff. The shower blocks though dated were lovely & very clean. Lovely situation in the New Forest with endless walks & cycle routes. Plenty of space for children to run around. We will definitely return to this site & are now looking forward to booking our second club site.

Everything but..........oh that shower block!!

We love Black Knowl and never tire of this our favourites camp site....... However, those showers! Once you've got past the tricky door key manoeuvres and turned on what is quite often a poor excuse of a shower, you soon realise there's nowhere to put your soap, shampoo etc except a small rather rickety thing attached to the shower brackets. Still love Black Knowl though.

Easter 2016 Storm Katie

Spent couple of nights at Black Knowle over Easter and really enjoyed our time in the New Forest. The campsite is a good walk from the village, had lovely meal at new Pizzeria Alberno in Brockenhurst. Loved the vintage round toilet block and such a shame that we heard its being replaced with the same old style. Why has everything to be homoginous. Why can't heritage be kept and just updated, surely this toilet block could be preserved. Was wonderful to have a large space for undressing and plenty of room so all clothes and floor could be dry whilst changing. There are numerous cycle paths and walks directly from the site but lets hope we have better weather when we visit again later this summer.

Great site, pity about the outdated facilities

Lovely site and wardens were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, two issues: 1. The toilet blocks are way out of date and it shows. Come on caravan club, let's have these updated! 2. Access road is full of very deep potholes. These need some work.

First timers!

This was our very first experience of staying in a motor home, we found the staff welcoming and helpful, and the site was so peaceful, the toilet facilities were beautifully clean and warm, with plenty of hot water. Couldn't fault the whole experience, we and our dogs loved the location! Thankyou

Brilliant

The site is without doubt the best in the Forest. I agree that the access road needs repair and the speed humps are too high for caravans. I want to congratulate the wardens though. Very friendly and helpful. I needed to see a Dr and my wife rang the number on the information board. We explained we were on the site but we were fobbed off with them telling us they didn't cover the site. My wife clarified this with the warden and one of the ladies (with the blonde bob) went into action ringing the surgery again. She fought like a lioness for me and I was in front of a doctor about an hour later. Thanks to her we didn't have to cancel our stay. What more can you ask for.

Short stay

Lovely site. Individual shower blocks a real joy. However - the access road is in a dangerous state due to some deep pot holes which put both vehicles and people at risk

Lovely Site, but............

Just spent a few days at Black Knowl. Lovely site as always, perfect for us and our dog, and easy to get to other parts of the New Forest. Warm welcome on arrival from the "lady" wardens but the men looked as miserable as sin most of the time - why do they do the job if they don't like it ?  The "but" in the title is about the access road, which is in appalling condition. There are some serious potentially car/caravan damaging potholes so please take care on the approach road.
