Disappointed

The location of this site back's onto a busy main road so there is a considerable amount of traffic noise Inc emergency vehicles as it is a main route. Not unbearable but needs to be noted. The site itself is well kept and facilities are kept clean. We arrived an hour earlier than the check in time as we had had a long journey so chanced entry like we all do but were very happy to go away and wait if this was not an option. The onsite team opened the barrier and I explained that if it wasn't convenient we would go away and return at 1pm. I was told that I could come in 'this time' as they had finished their jobs of which I was grateful. BUT then when I was being shown the available pitches the lady decided to remind me that in future not to turn up early as they have jobs to do and that I was lucky to be let in this time. I felt like a naughty child being chastised and had it not been that I had my 88 year old mother with me I would have told her to shove her pitch and gone elsewhere. I did appreciate being let in but don't expect to be spoken to in that way which didn't make a good start to the holiday. My husband also witnessed an elderly gentleman going to the toilet facilities when they were being cleaned and the male member of staff just pointed to a sign on the door with the cleaning times on. There were no signs anywhere directing you where to go should the toilet be closed. My husband took the old chap to the alternative facilities which is something the warden could have done. The wardens do a good job on the site but could definitely benefit from customer care and people skills training.

Lovely little site

We were en-route to Scotland and this site was a perfect stop gap for us. Conveniently located for the illuminations, which was a lovely little tram ride in the evening. Friendly staff and wardens. Very clean and tidy site. Good size pitches. Felt covid safe. Overall would recommend. We were a little put off prior to arrival by some previous reviews stating there were travellers on the site, we were travelling in the next 24 hours so were a little concerned, however when we got there, no sign of such goings on was apparent and all seemed to be back to normal. Keep up the good work as this site is a lovely little site close to Blackpool and its entertainment.

Already booked again for 2022

Our favourite site for so many reasons but none more than the Wardens (sorry Site Managers now) Julie and Glen who make you so welcome and keep the whole site and facilities in tip top condition. We recommend you stay here as the location is brilliant for getting into Blackpool and touring around to St Annes, Lytham, Fleetwood and other villages in between withour having to travel very far. We've already booked for Easter next year, can't wait, and look forward to seeing Julie and Glen and their new assistants in 2022.

Nice little site.

The site is really easy to find and you have a double barrier to negotiate on arrival but then straight onto a water filling point. Nice and easy. If it’s peace and tranquility you are looking for then Blackpool site is probably not where you want to be. Cars and vans come and go all the time, it appears to be near a busy airport. Its not a huge site and because your pitch is not allocated you will get units of all shapes and sizes driving about looking for a pitch. We were lucky in that the warden on duty (Asst Man) pointed out a pitch opposite reception that would fit our unit so we didn’t have to drive about. Be warned, if you put up an awning - the ground is super hard and you will need heavy duty pegs! I drilled mines in and even my drill was smoking on completion of about 10 pegs! The site has committed one fenced in pitch under trees for dog walking but giving the amount of dogs on the site it is just not big enough in any shape or form. The roadway outside is quite busy with no pavements in most parts but there is a possible dog walking walkway about 1/2 mile along the road. Be careful walking this road as there are large dumper trucks using the road as they access a building site adjacent to the site and suggested walkway. Wardens were nice and friendly however one or two looked a little fried after a long hard season plagued by travellers. We didn’t know of any on the site during our visit. Thank goodness really as they seem to be allowed to operate outside of club rules. Blackpool rates it’s self as a dog friendly town but in reality your dog must be on the lead for the majority of your visit. On top of that there are sections of the town beach that don’t allow dogs (with a pos fine enforced) and these are not clear so to err on the side of caution you just won’t let your dog off! Blackpool is mobbed with visitors and stag / hen parties so be prepared! Stanley Park is a fantastic space and is dog friendly although there are conflicting signs up near the clock tower telling you your dog must be on a lead at all times in the park (?). The pond in the park is huge but mostly filled with pond algae and thick weed. Still worth a visit with your dog or even kids as there is a large play area. The model village is dog friendly but quite an expensive hour out at nearly £20. Kids will enjoy the activity sheet but park elsewhere for free as they charge £2 just for parking.

BLACKPOOL REVISITED

We are new to caravan touring and bought our first caravan in order to be self-contained during the pandemic. After visiting more than a dozen sites in 18-months I feel I can comment on what should be expected by club members from caravan and motorhome club sites. I begin with Blackpool because this was one of the first places we visited and we returned again in the second week of September. The staff we encountered on our stay were affable and efficient and I pay tribute to the way they they maintained the facilities - fresh and spotlessly clean. So much so that for the first time we began to use the communal washrooms venturing out of our own little bubble. Our pitch was No57 which took early morning and later evening shade. The sunniest pitches are from 26 down to 41. Eighty-eight to 95 also see most sunshine. Pitches 16 through to 23 have noisy local traffic but there is a constant distant motorway buzz throughout the site. The location is great for visits to Blackpool and the coast -up and down- and we found the cheapest petrol at Morrisons supermarket. All in all a nice place to stay for a relaxing break and easy access from the M55.

Great location

Just a perfect location for Blackpool and the other local coastal towns, We used it a a base for our MH and drove into Blackpool with our grand children. The site was clean the pitches looked pretty level and the facilities were clean and well looked after. The staff were very good and gave us advice on getting into Blackpool and the surrounding area.

Quick thinking by wardens and great response by fire brigade

Quick thinking by wardens and great response by fire brigade saved a possible disaster as a motor home set on fire at reception. Dave and Liz were brilliant. Well done wardens and the fire brigade. Jeff Conway

Excellent site

Had a marvelous 8 night stay on this pitch. Very clean and relaxing. The wardens were very helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them. The disabled facilities are excellent. The site is very flat and easy to get around. Cannot wait to return
