The positives: location; assistant wardens; pitch; ability to get into Blackpool. The negatives: location; warden. If you want a site right at the end of the motorway on the edge of Blackpool, this is an ideal base to use. Just get a bus into town using the Blackpool transport co app. It’s easy. There is a bit of noise from the motorway, but it’s not too bad. There is also a pervading smell of horses as the seafront horses are stables nearby. On arrival we met the assistant wardens are they are great. The warden was away, we met him on our last day when we were having issues gaining access to the motorhome drive over. Instead of helping - he ignored us. We drive on Spanish plates, did he not want to get involved with a “foreigner” ? Eventually he lifted the barrier and we get through. Being sticklers for the rules, apparently we drove the wrong way.... but it’s not obvious that one road is two way. It was an irritation and spoiled the end of the break. If we hadn’t had the issue / met the warden, it would be 5 stars all round.
