very nice

Beautifully kept by industrious, helpful and friendly wardens. Noise from near-incessant traffic on lower level seemed unpleasantly high but on the higher levels well subdued by trees. Sites generously wide but the front windows of larger vans are close to the road and neighbours across the narrow street - a bit cosy. The site's play area looked modern and was well used. Lovely showers etc. Great hiking 10 minutes walk away on The Roaches which isn't mentioned in the CC Handbook. It was a horrible walk to Tittesworth reservoir on a road that was VERY busy even on a weekday. We found Leek amazingly interesting and enjoyable. Buxton is, of course, lovely and is a short drive away. Good shopping in nearby Leek.

Lovely Site

Stayed over bank holiday weekend - very friendly wardens - got an excellent sized pitch and it is a very spacious site - we have stayed before as we like the location - near to places such as water world and Alton towers which are useful if weather not great!! Lovely meal at a pub called Three Horseshoes well within walking distance - would certainly return and recommend.

Star site

Stayed in August for 3 nights. Extremely well kept site, beautiful and imaginative planting all around the site - it wasn't just about seasonal hanging baskets and tubs. Great facilities, lovely wardens and good dog walk - always easy to see the wardens who have dogs as they always keep the dog walk nice! Will definitely be visiting again - if there was a site of the year this would be a very strong contender!

The Friendly Site

We spent two nights at this site at the end of August. Well tended, full of flowers, the friendly efficient wardens make this a first class site. Another feature so lacking nowadays on many club sites - friendly members who stop, chat and exchange and share experiences. This really is a friendly site and we will visit again. If the club could bottle whatever it is that gives this site its ambience and spread it throughout the club, we could again have a true club spirit.

Very friendly and helpful

This was our first time out in our new purchase motor home and we had a lovely couple of days. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The site was beautifully well kept and perfect for our first trip. We had a fab day on the Roaches and will definitely return.

Gets Better and Better

Blackshaw Moor is less than 20 miles from our home and we visit at least once a year.   Every time we visit we feel it is even better than the year before.   Wardens fabulous, facilities spotless, the site has so many lovely touches this time, herbs growing to help yourself to, little wooden sculptures.   Absolutely wonderful.   Had a service pitch but may not bother next time as it is surrounded by trees, love the sunshine.   Well done wardens you are doing a fantastic job.

Fantastic location

This site was perfect for us. The location is within walking distance to an excellent pub/restaurant with wonderful views and the Roaches where you can walk all day.  The site has some road noise but that never bothers us and a choice of very private pitches or more open ones. The staff were the friendliest we have ever met and so helpful. Leek is only 3 miles away and the drive to Buxton is beautiful. Bakewell is a little further but an absolute treat. We also had a great day out at Monkey Forest. There are also a couple of good cycling routes, Manifold Valley and ànother whose name I have forgotten that goes through tunnels and over viaducts.  The site is also very easy to get to and spotless.

Brilliant Wardens!

Stayed here at the end of July start of August. Fantastically clean and tidy and very well organised. The wardens (all four of them ) were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and the Saturday evening chip van coincided with the Princes Trust charity night, what a laugh! This club site (like all) really just needs to add a little bit more for the kids. Would really stay there again if we go up North again.
