We spent a few days here on our way down through Scotland. What was not immediately obvious to me booking through the web site was that this is an Affiliated site and not a full-blown CC site. The site is in a lovely old walled garden with plenty of space and ample opportunities for walks. Others have commented on the state of the shower block ceiling - as an ex-builder I was more fascinated than horrified. I presume some paintwork repairs were done using cheap paint and this has become a breeding ground for black mildew - very unsightly but probably not harmful. It just spoils what are very modern facilities - far better than most on CC sites. Wet rooms with touch sensitive controls! Dyson hand driers! The crowning glory for us was a walk that the warden told us about - a circular walk down past a loch to the river. Just by the small weir we watched an otter feeding on several occasions and when the otter vanished it was replaced by a kingfisher which also dined while we watched. All in all a very good site with scope for improvement in the paint department.
