Small but Grand

Recently spent four days on this wonderful site. It really couldn't go wrong in such an amazing location, being Wharfedale and the Bolton Abbey Estate. The site itself, presumably restricted by Cavendish "do's and don't's", was small and extremely well maintained. The two stewards responsible for this were approachable and extremely helpful, particularly when we had a minor, and what turned out an embarrassingly simple, motorhome issue. They are to be commended. Actually, the Cavendish "do's and don't's" do contribute, we think, to making the surrounding area quite spectacular. There is an abundance of "easy" walking mostly, in our case, by the River Wharfe and, when motorised travel was required, the splendid Grassington and Skipton were easily accessible, as was the previously unknown (to us) village of Appletreewick. For our doggy friends, the dog walk was well placed, fenced and gated and sufficient for plenty of carefree exercise, following the more serious riverside walks. So, a completely enjoyable experience had by all and one that we intend to repeat later in the year.
