Good for families

A glorified CL

I have absolutely nothing detrimental to say about the Wardens. They were very welcoming and helpful. The site however was poor. Although very quiet and peaceful the general facilities were very poor. It is a big site with many pitches but there were only 2 drinking water and water waste areas. I rely on my internal motorhome tank and I had to unplug everything and then drive to the water point to fill up each time. I don't have space for an aqua roll. The pitches are of a good size but are overshadowed by the huge number of trees that blocked the few glimpses of the sun that we did have in the week and also blocked any views. It was wet and took along time to dry out due to the darkness and overshadowing. There were none of the facilities that you generally expece on a 'Club Site'. No Toilets or showers as a minimum. This really is just a very large CL, of which I have stayed on many with much better facilities than Borrowdale.

That’s odd, I drive my MH to the tap to fill its tank every time I need water on every site.

How else would you fill up, unless on a serviced pitch, and why would you want to fetch it in an Aquaroll when a MHSP is provided? 🤔

You knew of the surrounding trees and that it's a non-facility site, which is priced accordingly, before you visited. How come you were surprised?

Did the OP not read the site discription,it clearly states NO toilet bock ,and if you google earth it you would have seen the the trees that are needed to make it a woodland setting, we went there last year and thought the motorhome service point very good

an unfair review

Used the site twice in the last 10 or 12 years. Some of the pitches a tad short. Otherwise fine.

At this time of year any site that has trees will be shady as the sun is low in the skysurprised

How do YOU normally fill up with water when in your motor caravan?

It’s all in the site pictures as well, Husky.

Yes, very unfair.

I wonder what view they expected?

("Sydney Opera House, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon,  Herds of Wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain" perhaps?) undecided

(Apologies to B Fawlty esq.)
