Happy Easter holiday

From the beginning of the holiday to the end of the holiday we had an amazing time. The site remained peaceful and tranquil as it was when an adults only site. It remains tidy, clean and welcoming. The wardens are so friendly and caring and make you feel like one of the family. We were aware that a lot of work had been done behind the scenes with lots more to do in the future. So long as the site holds onto its special atmosphere the Caravan and Motorhome Club are onto a winner. It was nice to see the wardens again from last year who ran a well ordered site. The dog walk is still a place a wonder for humans and dogs and enjoyed 100%. We look forward to coming back in August for our annual peaceful, relaxing, chilling out holiday. Well done guys at Bingham Grange!

Lovely peaceful site

Only criticism of this site is that pitches are allocated, not chosen, BUT in a quiet period we were allowed to change. Also, few showers for busy periods. Apart from those small details we thought this site superior to the usual club sites as most pitches were screened with hedges and vegetation giving privacy. The dog walks were delightful and the on site restaurant a real surprise. Nice ambience, good food. Staff friendly and helpful. A very good site with easy access to Dorset's best beaches and attractions or just a peaceful rest.

A lovely site - very friendly wardens

We were allocated a lovely pitch on this peaceful site. Pitches are allocated due to the shape and size of some of them which isn't a standard C&MC size - we understand this will change when the upgrade takes place next winter. The toilet blocks are rather dated, although spotlessly clean, but again these will be upgraded over the winter. As we arrived and set up on a cold and wet Friday afternoon, we visited the bar for a couple of drinks to get warm and dry out. We didn't eat there, but the food looked very good. Very friendly wardens and the site is maintained to a very high standard. Definitely a site we will revisit.

Peace and Quiet

This site was so peaceful. Lovely walks across fields, and a lovely woodland walk on site. My dogs thought they were in paradise and so did we. Everything is so organised and clean. The wardens are very friendly and helpful right from the time you arrive till the moment you leave. Would definately return.

Good addition and something different

Great location for exploring this popular area. Whilst some people like the uniform 'corporate' standards of the average CMC site, this one makes a refreshing change. The pretty cottagey reception building at the centre of the site houses all of the facilities including the bar and restaurant on the first floor. (Didn't try the food as they hadn't geared up a take-away menu as yet) There are a number of unisex family bathrooms at the front, but there are small traditional style gents/ladies shower/toilet cubicles at the rear. There are also a couple of nice additional bathrooms to the rear with excellent large showers. On the downside having just two outside washing up sinks might be inconvenient at busy times. The WiFi on offer is from an independent supplier and not compatible with the standard CMC system, so if you've got a 12 month subscription it won't work here .. you pay extra and it isn't cheap. Luckily there is a good 4G signal. The pitch allocation upon arrival seemed pointless. There were just 2 units sited on the lower park meaning 95% of pitches were free. Our initial allocated pitch was opposite one of those already sited with a view behind of a large outbuilding. Suffice to say we requested to move to a central pitch with far reaching countryside views, which the staff were very happy to oblige. Great large dog walk with access to riverside public footpaths.

Little Gem in rural Dorset

Really lovely site set in beautiful countryside. We stayed here in March 2019 for 6 nights. The site is nice and quiet as it is set back from the nearest road, the pitches are nice and big and most of them are set on pea-shingle. Ours was a fully serviced pitch, note that electricity is 10 amps only but we didn't really have an issue with that. You just have to be careful what you have switched on at the same time. The showers and toilets are spotlessly clean. The main block is a little old but very clean and there are some family rooms which are more modern with really lovely hot showers. No shower button to keep pressing on and off, plenty of hot water. There's a small bar/restaurant onsite which serves food in the evenings. We didn't eat here but sat and had a few drinks most nights. The food looked good though. A nice wooded area for dogs to walk and sniff around, they are allowed off-lead in this area. Also direct access to public footpaths through the countryside to Hare & Hounds 2.5 miles away (OK food) and then a short drive up the road is the Half Moon which has excellent food. Both dog-friendly. Bridport is a 5 minute drive away with all the usual high street shops that you need, lots of restaurants and take-aways. Recommend HIVE Beach Cafe but you need to get there early as it is always busy. You can walk across the cliff tops from West Bay down to Burton Bradstock where the cafe is located. Site is well lit at night. Couldn't see any children's play area which suited us to be honest although it's not an adult-only site. Staff worked continuously to keep the site in perfect condition and always very friendly. Would certainly recommend this site, it's definitely one of our Top 3.

Excellent site

We have just returned from Bingham Grange and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the site. Despite some work being carried out this did not make any difference as the work being done will only make will be beneficial to the site. The wardens were excellent, polite and very helpful. The Buzzard Bar serves very good food, well cooked and good value. We will definitely return.

Under standard

I am sure work is underway in the re design of this site, the possibilities are there. Some work seems to be underway as our pitch was quite near where the digger started work at 9 am both days we were there, a quite retreat from my wife's recent illness, hence the poor rating for peace and quite. Maybe a pre warning would have been good. I am a great fan of the Clubs standards (that's why I'm a member) so I cannot recommend this site just yet, the outside dish wash area left a lot to be desired, the toilet block needs to reflect the Club's other sites facilities. On the plus side, the site is excellently placed for visiting the Dorset coast, the warden I spoke to was of the expected quality and the cleanliness was good. I think this is my first negative review of a Club site !

Work in progress

I agree with previous reviews in that this site is not yet up to the high standards we are used to at other club sites. That said I have no doubt that this site will be an asset to the club when the work has been done and become a very popular site. It is in a quiet rural location but within five minutes drive of Bridport and the harbour at West Bay. It is also well situated for visits to Weymouth, Lyme Regis and many other of Dorsets attractions. Some of the pitches are small and could present a challenge with a large outfit. (How did we manage before movers came along) and in my humble opinion the pitches are poorly arranged. There is not the usual one way system on site so extra care is needed. I agree the gravel used on pitches is too fine but did not present any problems other than the jockey wheel tended to dig in. We thought the bar and restaurant was a good addition. We would like to see more sites with these facilities although I know many will disagree. There is no club wifi on site, again each to their own but in the 21st century all members should have access to good wifi. I know many people like to escape all things techno but remember you don't have to use it. The toilet and shower facilities are not club standard, but were up to the usual high standard of cleanliness I presume an update and rethink of these facilities will be high on the to do list. All things considered we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others. I think the wardens on site deserve a mention in that they have been placed in a very challenging situation on a new site that is not yet quite up to standard. They were all very friendly and helpful and deserve a gold star. One final footnote the dog walk is one of the largest and best I have come accross.

Spoilt Peace and Quiet

We first stayed at the site in June and were so impressed with the peace and quiet, that we went back in August. Everything would have been fine if it hadn't been for people using pitches 75 and 103, who had obviously come together. they were loud and had no respect or regard for others on site. The wardens also had to speak to those on pitch 103 a couple of times re Health & Safety issues of having windbreaks completely around their tent, but they took no notice. Our quiet get away was therefore spoilt. Not sure now if we will ever return to this site. We were also disappointed that for the second time a pitch was allocated by the wardens, so we had no choice of pitch as we do at other CMC sites.
