Good for families

Please don't lose what made this site so exceptional. Please!!!

As Caravan Club members for some time this was one of the few non-CC sites we used to go to regularly. As an Adults-Only site we loved the peace and tranquility, the dog walks were exceptional and the “Piece de la Resistance” was the wonderful restaurant “Buzzards”. At first we were delighted to see this was now going to be a Caravan Club site. That would be the best of both worlds. But we hope it won’t lose the essence of what attracted us to it in the first place. Namely the Adults-Only environment and most importantly that wonderful restaurant, which now doesn’t even get a mention in the CC website. I sympathise with the members whose bookings were messed up – but please, Caravan Club, don’t lose the basics of what was a truly lovely site. It could be a real Gem of a CC site – but don’t lose what made it so great in the first place.

I think it’s good that club members with children will now be able to enjoy the site. After all, the club treats its members equally so they should all be able to use it.

However, this isn’t really a review so why not make your point in the dedicated thread on the forum where you can read and collect other views?

Obviously it will change and no longer be adults only.

Didn't a review say that their was likely to be a shortage of showers and WCs? I do not know the site

Personally with fire safety it's always best to as much of it as possible, so if the CAMC has a higher standard and this is a club site then they will have to change.

As a club site it simply cannot be adults only, not fair to all that pay their membership fee

The man cleaning the toilets for however many years has never found them difficult to clean! What a strange thing for the wardens to say!

As for being an ‘inclusive’ club, when only 20% of members have children, how does stopping the older generation enjoying this site represent equal. They are not helped to their pitch and are not allowed awnings up if seasonal. Many have had to leave or will have to sell their caravans.

So many unneccessary changes to one of the best and most popular sites in the area.

Too late.  I have been there very recently.  It is changing already.  For example would you believe the current wardens said the individual bathrooms were too difficult and time consuming to clean so they would need standard CC Ltd showers etc. and the bathrooms could go.  I imagine that this winter the bulldozers will be in "improving" the site.

That was also what was found at Black Knowl, the individual bathrooms were "difficult"and very time consuming compared to the "standard"wink

Not sure where that 20% figure comes from? You may well be right, N5, but no one is stopping the "older generation" enjoying this site, surely? I can't imagine it's suddenly going to be overrun with children as it has no play area and is not within walking distance of any beaches as far as I remember.

At the end of the day, the club has invested in a new site to its network, which is surely good news? If there was a good chance of it continuing as a profitable AO site maybe other buyers would have been interested.
