Recently had another enjoyable 5 nights stay at Brighton, it's one of our favourite sites on the club's network.
Agree with the comments about the huge and sharp edged potholes on the approach road and the foxes that nightly try to raid the dustbins by the toilet blocks. The wardens have attached weights to the underside of the dustbin lids so make sure you place them back on properly and don't leave rubbish at the side of the bins to avoid the wardens having a not very pleasant morning job cleaning up the mess!
The club information states that they have finished de-compacting the hard standings. This was a major gripe of mine a few years ago and the reception even replaced once some of my bent pegs after a particularly difficult episode putting up our awning. Of all the club sites we have visited Brighton held for many years our title of "Hardest hard standings we have been on". So who's the new holder of the title ..... that's right it's still Brighton! Under a couple of inches of loose stones the ground was still like concrete on our pitch, (number 151), four wrecked pins, several slightly bent but probably ok to continue using on softer ground and most of the pegs only half driven into the ground hoping that the winds didn't get too strong!!! Apparently the wardens know about this issue so why hasn't the club got the contractors back in to do the job properly that they've been paid for?
Another issue was that the tv booster on our post didn't work so we couldn't watch tv as the standard aerial is next to useless in the valley where the site is located. We spoke to one of the wardens about this who said that they knew about this problem and several tv boosters around the site weren't working. Apparently the contractors were coming on site during the week we left to fix the problem. He said that the office had a list of the ones not working, but nothing was said when we booked in and it was too late after our awning was erected to move pitch.
Other than the comments above we had a great time in Brighton as usual and will be back soon.
Lovely site, always great
We have been to this site many times. The staff are always friendly and pitches are well spaced and level. Facilities are clean and there are 2 shower blocks. Showers are traditional and unfortunately do not have space for a seat but the pegs are far enough away to keep your towel dry. There is a lovely mixed demographic of people staying on this site and a quiet friendly atmosphere, plus wild bunny rabbits.
There was a new pop up snack bar at the entrance. This time we found out about the bus that goes into Brighton that we might use next time. There is a rental bike rack at the end of the road. Be careful on the site access road since the pot holes are huge and sharp edged.
Top class team
We arrived at Brighton site on 19th June to a very warm friendly welcome, from the first day we were made to feel welcome with a cheery smile and hello by all the team. Whoever put this team together should be commended. The team work tirelessly to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, the cleanliness of the toilet facilities and the grounds are impeccable even though every morning they have to deal with the foxes and the bin areas, it would help if everyone put their rubbish in the bins provided and did not leave it on top of the bins. We will definitely be back next year. Many thanks to the whole team.
Family business
Great site, road to site full of very large potholes, which are getting larger. Road also spoilt by free campers, both caravan and motorhome. Passed one discharging grey waste straight onto the road, also rubbish and food waste dumped into the verges.
Clean pitches, helpful staff, good mobile cafe on site. Reported the chemical toilet cleaning machine, on site but supported by an outside business, at £2 per operation, was not working and did did not complete a full cleaning cycle to be told yes they knew it was faulty but no sign to say so. Details taken waiting for report.
Will go back.

Lovely Site
Our first visit to this site, won’t be our last. The wardens were so friendly. They do a fantastic job cleaning, and keeping the site tip top. Even saw one wardens checking all the equipment on the children’s play area. Unfortunately they have a problem with foxes on site, this was explained at check in, requesting us to not leave shoes outside our vehicle, and make sure the lid is on the bins. Everyone tried to do this, but the sly foxes got into bins daily. First thing every morning a couple of wardens where there clearing all the litter they had left. Just another job for them to do. I have to mention Paula, so friendly and very helpful. Nothing too much trouble. ALL wardens were fab. I would like to mention Women’s toilet/facilities on 3 separate occasions I visited different toilet blocks and why or why!!! Do women not flush toilet after use, it is beyond me. Would they do this in their home? I am not talking ones here…. Also why leave the hot tap running. It spoils it for people who use the facilities and leave it as we expect to find it.
Potholes and foxes
This is the third time we have visited this site over 4 years and the potholes on the access road get deeper and deeper. This is exacerbated by the illegal parking of motorhomes and caravans on the access road making some potholes unavoidable. This is a problem that the CAMC seem unable to solve..,,,as was with Cirencester!
The other is the the nightly raiding of the dustbin areas by foxes. Whilst this can be quite cute the site staff do warn you NOT to leave food or shoes out in awnings or outside overnight as they might/will get ‘foxed’.
Otherwise a quiet site with easy access to Brighton Marina and the waterfront.
Early summer break
We have just spent a long weekend at the site and were lucky to have beautiful weather for all of our stay. The site is large and quite easy to travel around to find a suitable pitch, it is worth checking out the site map before you visit to get a feel for the geography. Many of the pitches are overshadowed by mature trees and the associated hazards of bird droppings (mainly pigeons) on the vehicle roofs but we were able to find a pitch to suit that also benefited from the evening sunshine. The facilities block was very clean and not crowded at peak times.
There is a coffee and snack shack on site during the week which also makes paella on Friday evenings for preorder. The wardens were cheery and friendly and tried their best to resolve any issues or dilemmas.
The site has good access to local bus services, a short walk away and has easy access to the brilliant cycle route which runs along the seafront to Hove and beyond.
The approach road to the site through East Brighton Park has loads of potholes so take care as one in particular stretches across the road!!
Excellent site
We visited over the Easter period spending 9 nights here. The Wardens were all very approachable, helpful and knowledgeable, probably the best I have met. The site is well located, the facilities kept impeccable by the Wardens, and of a very high standard.
Definitely visiting again highly recommend although the prices are very high

Get rid of the noisy lawnmower!
This is without doubt the best CAMC site in the country. Perfect facilities, feels like you're in the countryside but you're only 30 minutes walk from the centre of Brighton. Staff are lovely too and the cafe was a welcome addition! There's just one thing that bugs me... that damn lawnmower/buggy thing that is SO noisy at 9am!! Not all.of us want to get up early when we are on holiday you know? In this day and age, SURELY they should be investing in a rechargeable electric one rather than that awful noisy petrol thing? It's literally the only thing that spoils what would otherwise be a perfect site.
Great site and location
Clean, friendly staff. Great to have Phillipe and his coffee on site.
Will definatelly return.
