good value for money

We used the site in August, one night on way down to Devon and 3 nights on way back. The site is clean and well maintained by the wardens, who were very helpful in other ways too. The traffic noise is only faint despite being on a lower pitch near the road and did not present a sleeping problem. The main problem we found was the horrendous traffic jams to and from the M5 when passing Worcester. Queueing on the A4440 in both directions and stationary on approach to the many roundabouts. Don't let that put you off using the site though - well worth the wait.

Compact site

Stayed for two separate nights en route and returning from Cornwall. Site is well positioned and very easy to find but unfortunately this also means that there is a lot of car and lorry noise from a surprisingly busy road between Leominster and Worcester. Wardens were very pleasant and welcoming but as this is not a very busy site office hours were restricted. As a value for money site it cannot be faulted.

Lovely part of the country

Stayed on this site for 4 nights in mid June, and despite poor weather over several days we enjoyed it very much. There are nice walks directly from the site, and a delightful NT property (Brockhampton) only a short walk away. Worcester and Hereford are both easy to get to by bus from directly outside the site. Hereford (even on a very wet day) was well worth a visit. Previous comments about excessive road noise are greatly exaggerated. You can hear the traffic, but it was not (in our opinion) at all intrusive. Finally, the wardens were friendly and helpful. PS - It is possible to walk to Bromyard from the site, but take advice regarding the best route . . . . we got it wrong, and had to ask directions from a friendly local.

Relaxing site for a break

Our first time on this site, wish we had been before as we have caravanned for over 35years. The site is quite small and on two levels. There are two levels to it with both grass and hard standing on both, I think the upper level is slightly sunnier than the lower but both very nice. Never far to walk when getting water, emptying water or the loo. Be aware, there is a bus stop just outside but the lay-by for it does not reach to entrance so you may, like me be slightly misled about turning into the entrance but NO problems, probably me. We had sic nights here and found it very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyed winding down for a few days. Not far into Bromyard itself where there is limited shopping and not far to Leominster where there is Aldi and Morrisons for shopping. We hope to go again in the not too distant future. We would like to see more of these, some call basic sites, with modern vans you do not need all the showers/toilets etc, they are in the van. Being on the side of a main road, though some noise as mentioned it is easy to get too without going up and down narrow roads. Keep it up.

More Sites like this please!

We ( that is two adults and our dog) stayed here this month. As others have commented the site has the most beautiful flowers on display. The service points, of which there are one on each level are spotless. There are no toilets and showers, but like many people we always use our own in the privacy of our own caravan. We're very grateful for sites such as this, on which we are not paying a vast amount for facilities we don't need, but we can be confident that as it's a Club site it is going to be clean and well maintained. So come on Club, MORE please! Yes the site is close to the road so inevitably there is some road noise, but you can easily ignore it, and it means easy access with no narrow lanes to negotiate!

Nice peaceful site, some awkward pitches

We spent 4 nights here. The site is based in 2 levels of a quarry, completely surrounded by trees. The first impression is marvellous, flowers all over the front of the office and still more around the upper service point. The wardens were helpful and welcoming. The only slight downer is that some of the pitches are a bit awkward and the hard standings are very narrow. There is a bit of noise from the nearby A44, but it was only intrusive when unsilenced motorbikes raced up the hill. Very handy for National Trust's Brockhampton Estate and the interesting shops in the small town of Bromyard itself. I have had to give 5 for "facilities and cleanliness", though there aren't any actual facilities the site is kept clean and tidy.

A Break at Bromyard

Bromyard Downs is a small, pretty no facilities site on 2 levels, it has a mix of HS and grass pitches, & Each section has its own service point. The site is situated just of the A44 so depending on where you pitch there can be a fair bit of road noise. Most of the HS pitches are quite narrow so if you have an awning the car has to be parked across the front of the pitch. The grass pitches were not in use when we visited. There is a footpath from the top of the site which takes you to the entrance of the Brockhampton Estate, which has extensive walks in the parkland, & a moated manor house. Bromyard is a lovely little town, with lots of independent shops including a good butchers & bakery, there is also a coop supermarket. The site information hut had details of lots of walks in the area too, including over the downs. We visited Ludlow and Berrington Hall, and can recommend both. There is no play area on site, so it may not suit families. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

The perfect get away

Brilliant, small site, superbly situated and beautifully run. There’s no toilet block so if, like me, you always use your own bathroom it’s great- you’re not paying for something here you don’t use. There’s so much to do in the area and the site itself is gem. You leave the world behind when you drive through the entrance. Some pitches are small and it is in a bit of time warp- caravanning of yesteryear- but is that a bad thing? I loved staying here and the wardens are just great.

Great service by wardens

Stayed here recently during the freezing weather conditions and experienced a heavy fall of snow during our stay. Full marks to the wardens who visited us on both mornings to make sure we were ok and brought us supplies of water, as the site taps had frozen. We use this site as a base to visit Worcester and to walk on The Downs, good value for money at £14.

Excellent Site

We stay regularly at this small site which is excellent value for money. As a previous reviewer said, the road (A44) is busy and noisy but doesn't have a huge impact on the site and, as the rest of the site is very quite, its easily forgotten about. There are very limited facilities and there's not a lot of space for children but the service areas are well maintained and the herb trough (help yourself) is very welcome. The location is excellent for both walks from the site, walks further afield and exploring by car with plenty of local attractions within easy reach - Bromyard Downs have great views, Lower Brockhampton is well worth exploring and Bromyard town is worth exploring. We always aim for a hardstanding as some of the grass pitches seem soft but I'm sure the wardens will guide you on this.
