Not often we can enjoy the sunshine we had this last weekend when in the Peak district which only added to the delight of our recent stay. Site is in a good location and handy for walks etc as mentioned in the site details. Facilities are modern, spacious and were kept very clean. The band system worked as well as members being able to remember what to do! Thankfully from this week, normal service will be resumed! As with a number of sites, pitch and surrounding areas are not quite up to the standard pre-covid which is not surprising, with lower staff numbers etc but then how many local councils are using 're-wilding' to cover a reduction in maintenance? Nothing at Buxton looked amiss and the extra vegetation does encourage the wildlife and of course the site enjoys wild orchids in certain locations. Mark and the team were very welcoming and extremely helpful on our visit and a real credit to the club. We won't hesitate to visit again later in the year.
