Good situation

Lovely spacious pitches, peaceful and well situated for Cambridge. We cycled in through a park, along a brook and then a direct quiet road to the centre. Great fun. As you can imagine Cambridge is very cycle friendly. Great weekend!

Visiting Cambridge

This site is very convenient for visiting our daughter who is at university in Cambridge. The walk in actually passed her Halls of Residence! The buses are also easily accessed and frequent. The site was very peaceful so we enjoyed a relaxing few days.

A great situation

Another good week at this site. It is in a disused quarry and is secluded, fairly quiet with lots of wildlife. Facilities are excellent with a wide choice of pitches. Just across the road is a Wildlife Trust nature reserve in another quarry. There are so many places to visit from this site, a week is not enough.

A great stay

We are new to Motor Caravanning, only started June 2015 when we purchased our first motor home, we have tried to visit as many CC sites as possible this season and our last stay at Cherry Hinton was one of the best.  Excellent facilities and friendly staff, some noise from what I believe was a sports field just over the tree line but not really a problem.  We set up in pitch 45 which is in a clearing so very bright and close to the toilet block.  Excellent bus services to Cambridge, choice of two routes a ten minute walk away and a park and ride just a mile away.  A pub also ten minutes away which we didn't get a chance to try.  TV antenna hook up so no problems with adjusting aerials.  We would rank this site very highly and are likely to return.

One to go to if you get in early

Spent 4 lovely days here, can't get in until 1pm but at least we managed to get a nice open spot.  Some spots very dark and very low down like numbers 20,21,22.  Staff very friendly and toilet block spotless and radio 2 playing.  As we have a motor home this site was excellent for us.  Village pub and shops just up the road and lots of choices of buses into Cambridge.  Really enjoyed it and will be back.

Perfect location

For those wishing to explore the city and the surrounding countryside this site is the perfect location. It is well served by local transport being  only a few minutes walk from bus stops.  There is also the added bonus of a local eatery close by. The surrounding countryside is beautiful.  We are keen cyclists and benefited from Sustrans routes taking us north to Anglesey Abbey NT property and Wicken Fen, both well worth visiting and also a lovely tour south visiting many villages and RSPB Fowlmere. The site itself was peaceful, very well run with excellent facilities.  Wardens were friendly and helpful.  Some pitches are small but this didn't detract from an otherwise perfect site.

Pegasus

This site was lovely. Compact and with a very  "quirky" layout. It was lovely and peaceful. only broken by the sound of children playing in the school next door - a happy normal sound. Visited IWM at Duxford - brilliant day well worth it. Wardens very sociable and helpful. Site, as is the norm with CC sites, was very clean and well maintained. Well worth a return visit.

Where the sun don't shine.......

Full marks for all aspects of the toilet block and the local pubs were good. The welcome from the warden left much to be desired but this was probably due to her embarrassment in having to allocate us Pitch 21. Her instructions included walking down to plan how we would get the outfit in and for us to consider reversing all the way down - about 100yds to what we unaffectionately referred to as the "Pit". Others have described the pitches in this section as dark and dank - we can add gloomy with no outlook (we could only see the sides of the motor homes on each side) and definitely no sun! Thank goodness we had not booked more than two nights. Thoroughly unpleasant experience and we will not return.
