Loved Your Site

Originally booked in for 5 nights, 2 hours after arriving decided to extend stay to 8 nights. Site is perfectly positioned to explore Cornwall and north  Devon. The welcome was second to none, the site is exceptionally well looked after by the wardens. The toilet block is a little tired hence the 4 out of 5 for 'facilities & cleanliness' however the facilities are kept spotlessly clean. A beautiful site and a credit to the wardens.

Great location, good site

Great location for touring the area as very close to main road, but still quiet. Not much in Camelford itself, but fish & chip shop & Chinese take away both good. Dog walk field bit small but plenty of walks about. Tennis court a great extra. Small kids play area across the road in the housing estate & a large one in Camelford by the river. Only down side for me was the shower cubicles are bit small & especially when I was showering a toddler too.

needs updating

Firstly I love Cornwall but this site is past its sell by date. We were booked on recently but after looking around and finding the grass pitches very soggy and unable to level my van with the usual caravan ramps we decided to leave and got a refund from the very helfull warden. will try another site next ,should have lengthened our stay at merrose farm

Nice site

We have been before and liked it. The site is peaceful and has a good view from most pitches, the others being sheltered from any wind by trees. It is well kept and the toilet block is nice and clean. The only downside for us is the distance into the village if you wish to walk it , it's quite steep for those not too good at walking although we knew this before we booked. It's only a few minutes by car but we have a 7.5 metre Motorhome and parking is a little restricted. Well worth it for the excellent Fish and Chip shop. Good site for visiting coastal Cornwall , Padstow is lovely and of course there are the various options to eat from Rick Steins range of outlets . We had take -away from his place on the fish dock and it's very good , but be prepared to pay for the experience !

lovely little site

stayed on this site for four nights. Site is very clean as are toilets and showers. Staff on site very friendly and helpful. As others have commented, the site does slope a little (more down the bottom of the field) and there are only limited hardstanding pitches. We were in the field closest to the road and there was a fair bit of traffic noise so would probably stay in another field next time. There is a little shop selling bread etc if needed. Other than the road noise, the site is exceptionally quiet. We walked into Camelford (about 10 mins) where there is a dog friendly pub and a few places to get food, as well as a co-op. Good base as others have said for Port Isaac. We went to Tintagel too and also drove to newquay, Jamaica Inn and bodmin moor and also ventured as far afield as St Ives (1 hr 15 mins drive). We will definitely return here.

Perfect for visiting North Cornwall

We arrived on the Saturday in time to set up before we had two days of torrential rain. The site, being slightly sloped, soon drained quickly. Camelford site was kept very clean and tidy by the friendly staff. We found this to be an ideal site for visiting places like Boscastle, Tintagel & Port Isaac. The South coast is only an hours drive away for places like Looe and Polperro. There can be a high level of road traffic noise if you are parked at the road end of the site but while we were there the local farmers were harvesting a crop which meant there were many large tractors using the road through daylight hours. Other than that, there was nothing that would stop us visiting this lovely site again, which we hope to do next year.

Lovely peaceful site

We stayed here for one week from 13th June. The facilities were good and very clean. We found it to be central for lots of places including Padstow, Tintagel and Boscastle. The only let down was the weather. Would definitely stay here again.
