Nice site, pity about the weather

Stayed here for 8 nights with our 2 dogs. Nice site by the beach and warden went the extra mile for us giving us a pitch nearest the wifi mast as I needed constant access for that particular week. The toilets and showers in the block were plentiful and clean although you have to master the art of keeping everything dry in the shower as there is no dry area. We were unlucky with the weather which is not unusual for the west coast of Scotland and had it been drier for a longer spell the whole experience would have been better enjoyed. That being said, as the owners of 2 labs, they didn't give a jot for the rain and enjoyed the beach, sea, river and local walks. If I could mention one criticism it is more dog waste bins I could only find one onsite and this wasn't emptied from before the Tuesday we arrived until the Saturday which resulted in bags being piled around the bottom of the bin. Maybe just an oversight though. Directions to the site given by the caravan and motorhome club NEEDS TO BE UPDATED! We followed the 'clubs' directions via Campbeltown going and this added at least 35 miles to the journey ( and this was NOT a good road) avoiding the single track road as advised however I spoke to several caravaners with long caravans like ours and they had came via the single track road with no problem. Apparently although the road is single track it had been resurfaced and multiple extra long passing places added for the wind farms that have been established and accessed by this road so we did a dry run with the car and decided it was fine. We then did our return caravan journey via this road. We encountered at least around 10 cars and one lorry but it didn't present any problems as traffic drives slow and plenty large passing places.
