First visit to this site.
Site situated ideally to Carsington Water for walking and cycling. Cycle route is not as easy going as you would first imagine being next to a reservoir.
Site peaceful with clean and well maintained facilities. Great food at the local Knockerdown Pub situated approx 2 miles from site.
Wake up to bird song
This was our second visit and won't be our last. Lovely site with several areas separated by tall pine trees. Very quiet and peaceful so you can hear the birds singing. Everywhere is well maintained (as you would expect from the Caravan Club) and the facilities were clean and tidy. Easy access to Carsington Water and the waterside walks but also the surrounding countryside.
love it!
We recently stayed at carsington for 4 night's. This was our 2nd visit & we will return for a 3rd. The site is well located with plenty to do in the area. We have a 2year old and a 5year old and found there is plenty for children to do too. The site is quiet and the pitches are a good size & well positioned so you don't feel like you're being over looked. The dog walk around the perimeter is great for children (although there were a few dog poos that hasn't been picked up despite the posters asking people to do so). Toilet/showers /washing up room and laundry room all immaculate with radio 2 to listen to. Overall our family favourite cc sure so far - would certainly recommend.
First visit to the site & first caravanning trip
Overall we really enjoyed the 4 nights we were here. New to caravanning this was our first trip. I did get a rude awakening though as to caravan clubs rules & regs! We arrived & we forget our membership cards, then we were asked to report back with our peg number that night. Apparently it's safety related & they couldn't close the system, fair enough. The following morning I was in trouble! I was reprimanded by the lady at reception for not going back to reception that night (it was raining) & giving my peg number, I was going to reply but thought just take your humiliation & move on you foolish boy! Lessons learnt & all! Great site, facilities great & exceptionally clean. Would definitely return....if they'll have me?
What a cracking view
We had an overnight stay here on 16th April 2016 - it is a wonderful site. From the warm welcome at Reception to the warm, spotless shower block, everything was good. We will be back in Summer when we hope the weather will be more friendly, we had all 4 seasons in one day when we stayed.
Updated review
Forgot on my last review the toilet block was immaculate with piped music and great showers
A biker's paradise!
Amazing site nestled in woodland with extensive shower facilities with the radio on to showcase my singing!
The reservoir has a great bike track within riding distance and plenty to do for kids and adults alike.
We really enjoyed our time here and have booked our return visit already!
Thank you to the wardens on this site for upholding the great reputation the club's site has.
