Lovely Clean site

Our first visit to this lovely site, really good pitch (63 ), very friendly welcome on arrival, good security onto the site, the toilet and shower block was spotless and warm, loved the piped music while have a shower in there. A great dog walking track around this site too, will definitely stay here again.

1st Time Visit

This is our 1st time visit to carsington water club site, we just wanted a bit of chill time, after a difficult few months, we weren't disappointed, it was lovely, peaceful and just what we needed, the weather was kind to us, everyone was friendly, not just the wardens but other caravanners, we had a problem with our awning, one or two people stopped to see if they could be of help, the toilet block  was Immaculate. We had a lovely walk around the resovoir and a lovely time in nearby Asbourne, and Belper, we can't wait to go back for alonger stay next time, we only live an hour away and although we only had a weekend this time, it felt like we'd been there a week. A definite 5* from us

First time visit and first night caravanning!

This was our first visit to the Carsington Site and our very first weekend overnight with our new caravan. We are both newbies and thought this site looked ideal. On arrival there were 4 other caravans' in the queue to get into the site - all of us were dealt with in a few minutes and were advised to go through the barrier and choose a pitch. Our pitch was at the top end (No.103) - only a few other caravans already there. Got everything prepared and then had a walk to the Carsington Water Visitor Centre - approx. 2miles. We had a chat with a few people who were very happy to give us any help as newbies (this included onsite staff. We asked if we could delay our departure by a couple hours as we wanted to complete a walk around the reservoir (8.5miles) This was not a problem as we had asked rather than just staying without asking. We would be happy to return and also recommend this site to anyone particularly if this would be their first visit with a new caravan. Thank you.

Our best site this year

Spent the last week of September here; for 5 nights out of 7 we had a personal section to ourselves, over the weekend, it was full. Good location for walks and visiting the national park. The weather was brilliant. Amenities were good and loved the baskets of flowers around the toilet block. My dog enjoyed the camp site walk all around the site and even watched the lunar eclipse through the trees at 3am!

WILL NOT RETURN

Site is very linear and it is a long way back to the entrance. Found the staff unhelpful - more bothered about their own rules being observed than the well being of members and families. We shall not be going back!

Peaceful & plenty to do

Stayed twice in the second half of September. A very peaceful site largely enclosed by trees but with some views of Carsington Water. Dog walking facilities good. Showers, toilets & other facilities all clean and of a good standard. The pitches are large but not all of them flat and some "tidying up" such as new hardcore would improve the appearance. Perhaps that is planned in the off season as some of the grass areas have already been reseeded. WiFi reception was patchy which was disappointing as the site wasn't particularly full. There is plenty to do round about. Derby, Ashbourne, Bakewell & Buxton are easily reached by car but the bus service is infrequent. There are walking & cycling routes aplenty & the Carsington Visitor centre is only 30 minutes walk. All in all a good location for a relaxing break.

Love this wooded site!

We love to visit this site. Pitches are large and flat, and many back up to trees, allowing a private feel to the pitch. the toilets and showers blocks have radio 2 piped in, which I really like. Very clean too. Small children's play area which keeps our little one occupied! A decent dog walk, although can be a little muddy at wetter times of the year. There are lots of good walking possibilities from here, including a lovely walk from the site to the carsington visitors centre, where there's a lovely cafe, large children's play area, and a nice visitors centre.

Bliss!!

From our arrival Saturday lunchtime to our departure, the site was outstanding! All staff onsite very super friendly and obviously take pride in their site. Toilet blocks very modern and clean, well stocked shop and very dog friendly. Dog walks on site but just a five minute walk is the stunning reservoir. There's some fab cafes that overlook water and all dog friendly, a pub a further 15minute stroll from reservoir.  Site in a beautiful woodland setting...we completely fell in love. Can't wait to return next year. Thanks

Beautiful site!

Loved this site! It was fully booked by the time we arrived on Friday evening but the reception staff were doing a great job of trying to help people know where the available pitches were. We ended up on a pitch close to the entrance which was nice and flat and had good TV reception. The site and facilities were spotless even at the end of the day. Carsington Water is a two min walk away and we had a lovely day walking around the entire reservoir with a couple of pub stops on the way! Thanks to another review we knew there was a local Indian that delivered to the site which was a godsend after the long walk! The onsite dog walk was also lovely but be prepared for a couple of steep bits. All in all a great site I would go back to.
