Stayed 3 nights at the end of March and had perfect weather. This was my fourth visit to the site and although I was not able to get my preferred pitch overlooking Carsington Water, number 118 on the opposite side of the site, offered pleasant views through the trees. I visited Wirksworh just a few miles away. I have only previously been at night and not explored it. I was surprised at how much bigger than anticipated the town is. It is an old town with many interesting buildings. Well worth a visit, as is the Heritage Centre on the main street, (with a good café to the rear).
