Lovely Peaceful Site

We stayed here for 2 nights recently. Beautiful site in a very quiet location set among tall Pine Trees - it reminded us of French sites we've stayed on. Some of the pitches had beautiful views of the countryside through the trees. We didn't get one of these but our pitch was still nice & very pleasant to sit outside. It was great watching all the rabbits, squirrels & birds. The showers & toilets were kept really clean & we liked the radio playing in there. The wardens were very friendly & helpful. We did the walk to Carsington Water, very pleasant, although a bit windy along the dam. The Visitors Centre had an interesting exhibition about the water supply, a few nice little shops, plus a cafe & ice cream bar, a nice way to spend an afternoon. The only thing we didn't like about this site is that it wasn't near to anything on foot, apart from Carsington Water. We have a motorhome so like to be able to walk into a town, village or even just a good pub.We realise that not everyone feels the same & if you want somewhere to just relax in peace & quiet & don't mind driving a bit more, than this site is perfect for you.
