It rained constantly our whole stay , however we still enjoyed ourselves . The wardens did a marvellous job keeping the facilities clean despite the wet and mud . Near to the lake and would have been a lovely walk had the weather been kinder , travelled by car and enjoyed the walk around the island . Lots of wild life and birds , plenty of seating and picnic areas to admire the view . Coffee shop visit for lunch most welcome . Some brave souls in boats using the lake . Short ride to Ashbourne with plenty of shops . Not to far from Chatsworth to enjoy a lovely day out . On site the wild life were a joy to watch plenty of rabbits and squirrels. So I was dismayed to see so many off lead dogs on site , one of which bounded into our awning and caravan making a considerable mess with its muddy paws and coat . Took all day to clean it up . Inconsiderate owner of dog not at all interested . Spoilt our stay .
