This is a very attractive site, with spacious pitches and although quite large, it has an intimate feel as it is divided into sections. It is superbly well maintained and the organisation to ensure safety in the current climate was excellent. The toilet block was really well organised, so that there were never more than three people in at a time. We only used the showers (we were there in the heat wave and needed slightly more water than on board showers provide!) and never had to queue. I think a lot of people were using their own on board facilities as much as possible, as requested. It is situated within a ten minute walk of Carsington Water and the cycle round the reservoir is not to be missed. We did it easily on regular bikes and we are very much 'your average cycles, aged 72 and 62'. We tried ebikes (hired in Ashbourne) for the Tissington Trail which was a great experience. But it was such a lovely site, with great pitches, and we had fabulous weather, so we spent quite a bit of time relaxing by our van.
