Fabulous Christmas and Lovely Wardens
Visited the weekend before Christmas when all the ice was really bad, we arrived late due to frozen pipes and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, to the point of lending a heater to help us defrost. We had a booking elsewhere over Christmas and decided to change it to Castleton, the staff helped us swap this ( due to the hideous booking system )
so off we went home and came back a few days later to the warmest of welcomes :-) the staff here can not do enough for you - Thank you
Lots of walking from the site and an easy walk along the river into hope, a few styles can be a little awkward if you have a big dog.
Lots of pubs, café, bistro's in the village.
The weather was again unkind and rained for the majority but we still enjoyed it all the same. To the Wardens Thank you for all your help with defrosting and the offer to help our burst pipe over the Christmas period - you know who you are :-)
hopefully our next visit will be plain sailing.....
