Ditch the Car

First stay here at the end of April. Reception and facilities up to the usual high standard. Pitches are a good size and well laid out so that they do not look too regimented. There are a small number backing onto the road which were subject to noise but this is such a popular site (especially at weekends) that you might not get much of a choice. You could easily ditch the car for a week with plenty of walking and easy access to Castleton and Hope where you will find everything you would need in terms of shops and pubs. Found O2 mobile signal was good as was TV reception over our omni directional roof aerial however Wifi was absolute rubbish when it was up. We were even advised to call AirAngel (the service provider) ourselves and then rather amusingly got several phone calls from them asking us to go and reset the wifi boxes. The two on site dog walks were adequate for our dog but as usual sad to say we witnessed a number of dogs relieving themselves on pitches and being walked around on extending leads going where they wanted. This is a great site and are already booked in for later in the year to continue our exploration of the Peaks.
