We arrived at Cayton with some trepidation not quite knowing what to expect and on pulling onto site we so very nearly turned around and went out again as we were led to believe that the building work was supposed to be a little further along than it actually was but we have come all this way we will stay. We eventually found what we thought would be a nice pitch and set up and then took the dogs to find the designated dog walk first disappointment it was just a narrow strip a few metres long with a bit of bark down which over the next couple of weeks would get increasingly muddier and covered in other people’s dog mess that wasn’t picked up. But the thing that really got us annoyed was during the first week we where awoken every morning at 7am to the sound of tipper trucks going along the road immediately at the back of us a little early me thinks. My last gripe the recently laid gravel on our pitch was leaving a white residue all over the caravan every time we came in we ended up taking the carpet up it was making such a mess. The only saving grace was the facilities always clean but then again as it’s all fairly new so it should be. Will all get better given time but a very disappointing visit.
