Firework Fiesta

Considering it was the end of a long season the greeting by the warden on arrival was the best we'd had all year. Very well kept site by two excellent wardens, wish they were all like that. Two minor criticisms, a) the shower cubicles are small and they all puddle where the floor tiles have either sunk or were not laid properly and b) noisy youths on the adjacent play park during the evenings. One thing I couldn't get my head round though was the Clubs pricing structure. £4 a night more expensive than Minehead for similar facilities. Still the free firework display from the adjacent football club partly made up for it.

Tranquility

What a superb site, this was our first stay and won't be our last. We had a splendid view of the Mendips from our pitch. Cheddar, Cheddar Gorge are all within easy walking distance, using the footpaths to Cheddar - no need for the car. For good food, at reasonable prices try The Bath Arms, Cheddar and they are dog friendly too. Don't be put off by it not having a dog walk, turn left out the gate follow the stream and there you will find an open space for them to burn off a bit of energy. Staff were exceedingly helpful, diligent and considering there were only two, kept it spotless both inside the facility block and the grounds. Only down side was the showers were rather snug.

We had a lovely week here, even stayed a couple of extra days. The site is very clean and tidy and the wardens were smashing. It was nice to be able to walk to Cheddar and the surrounding area. You didn't have to travel far to visit the other interesting places on offer either. We will definitely be going back.

Another great weekend

This was our second weekend break spent at Cheddar and as ever the wardens were excellent. Lots of good information provided including a warning of an event at the football club and there may be noise. If there was, we didnt hear it and it certainly didn't detract from a lovely stay. Cheddar itself is a short walk and you can avoid the traffic by walking up froglands lane and then through the footpath to fairlands way and Penn road. Cant wait till we can come back

A Great Weekend

Our 1st time at Cheddar Club Site. Pleasant and friendly welcome, directed to the available pitches and the site explained. We were warned about the potential noise from the Sports Club next door. In the event though audible, the noise wasn't too bad. We had a great weekend and enjoyed the great walks and the caves in the Gorge. As usual the facilities were immaculate. A popular site in walking distance of the town and Gorge. A large carboot on the sunday, just up the road was also open.

LOVE WALKING AND CYCLING

We have just spent five days at Cheddar Site - absolutely top notch - best kept site of the season If you love walking and cycling this is the site for you.The Strawberry Line cycle trail is a brilliant off road route through some wonderful scenery. Walking the Gorge Walk, Reservoir and Axbridge are excellent.  Bus service from Cheddar Court House very good, had a bus ride to Weston Super Mare.  This has ended the season beautifully for us - roll on next year

Well managed site

We were there for 5 nights til 13/10/1015. The two wardens were excellent and have made great improvements since we were there last year. Already planning to return next year as it is a good base for visiting that area of Somerset.

ideal base for exploring the area

This small, but wonderfully kept site was a lovely surprise after a three hour trip on twisty turning supposed major A roads ! It was a welcome surprise upon arriving, and is controlled by a married couple who are exceptionally helpful and friendly and keep the site to an excellent condition throughout the site. The toilet block was spotless !!! We enjoyed a midweek break here and visited the Gorge ( a little too commercialised for us !) Wookey hole ( the 4d experience is hilarious!!!!) and the city of Wells, especially the cathedral, which is an incredible feat of architecture. Also Bath that's filled with plenty to see and do, and is so clean for a busy city. once again, well done for the excellent

Short weekend break

Just had a short weekend break at Cheddar, what a lovely site and location, Cheddar village is great when away from the caves (caves are a tourist magnet) and close enough to visit Bath for shopping. Site has the usual CC facilities that are nice and clean. We will return again!

lovely site

Recieved a nice welcome even though we were a little late arriving and the office was about to close. Site and facilities were spotless. Situated just outside the village. a river runs just outside which our golden retriever loved. There's also a path running along it where you can walk. Saw kingfishers, Gray Wagtails and Jays in abundance.  Would suit nature lovers.
