Cheddar short stay

We have stayed here before in our Motorhome, in the Summer. This time we stayed in November for a 3 x day break. As before, staff were lovely & helpful. The site was very well kept & maintained, and the toilet/shower block, though small, was very clean etc. We walked to Cheddar Gorge from the site, which didn't take long at all - firstly visiting all the lovely Xmas shops that are now parading their goods. There are some lovely eateries there. The one we frequented, and had a lovely afternoon meal, was the Riverside Inn, at the start of the walk into the Gorge area. Next day we climbed Jacobs Ladder, and walked over the top of the Gorge where there are wonderful views of the whole area, and returned via the road back into the village - all in all, about a 2.1/2hr walk. If the site could make a couple of improvements for the future, the first would be the relocating of the Motorhome Service Point. It is inconveniently placed next to the toilet block, and just in front of the exit barrier - thus, if a Motorhome is using the facility, another vehicle will not be able to get out, as there isn't enough space. I get why its there - because of the drains/water etc., for the toilets - but I would even consider forsaking the pitch next to the toilet block and have the MSP there instead - far more room potentially, and won't cause an obstruction. The second thing, though trivial, would be to consider having a kiddies small play area on site. It need not be big, just a couple apparatus for smaller kids ? We love this site ......cosy, welcoming, plenty to see & do around that area - and fantastic for an overnight stop, if you are travelling further afield, like Cornwall/Devon. We'll be back !!
