We travelled up from Paignton and stopped here for a couple of nights, before making our way home to East Yorkshire. We wished we had stayed a little longer, however, it’s on our list to return. We were warmly welcomed. We got there 20 mins earlier than we expected, but the staff allowed us on site without any fuss. Thank you. The site is small and attractive, decent pitch size and not too close together. Levelling the motorhome was minimal and easy. WiFi signal was fine while we were there. The shower and toilet facilities were kept very clean, however, it is in need of improving, the shower space was small and it was difficult to keep clothes away from the spray of the water etc. Although we didn’t have any problem getting a shower, there doesn’t seem many considering the size of the site, so I imagine it would be a problem at peak times of the year. The other big problem was the water temperature. It started ok, but within a few seconds it suddenly turned cold and despite the temp gauge adjustment, it didn’t make any difference. It eventually just got bearable and it wasn’t even busy! So it can’t be the demand on the supply. We didn’t use the motorhome service point as it was outside the barrier and I didn’t want to cause obstruction to other vehicles leaving the site, not the best place for it. However, I used waste can to empty it, so not a major issue. As already mentioned, it’s in a fantastic location, a safe walk into the village, plenty of shops and eating places nearby. A little further on is Cheddar gorge itself, we had a lovely break here and would go back, despite the showers. They just need refurbishing and bringing up to date. A real credit to the staff, keeping the site and facilities tidy and clean.
