Pleasant- ish stay in Cheddar

We stayed here in late September while travelling home from Cornwall. On arrival we received the most unfriendly welcomes from the grumpiest warden we have ever met. No manners, just a folded receipt and instructions to pitch and let him know where we were sited. The site is located behind a high boundary fence which limits the views but it is a well laid out with the usual CAMC facilities. Although these are looking a bit tired they were OK but nothing much to praise. But they were livened up when Mr Grumpy came rattling his sweeping brush under the toilet door and shouted "all out its time to clean" The benefit of having Radio 2 on in the toilet block is that you know it's cleaning time when PopMaster starts at 10:30, but with Ken Bruce still playing music I thought I still had a few more moments to relax, but apparently not. Anyway, the area is great and Cheddar is well worth a walk round and we did enjoy our stay. If you like cheese then you should be ok here but I was surprised by the number of Original Cheddar Cheese Shops there are. Finally I did overhear two others complaining about the warden (who appeared to be on his own during our stay), with one member stating that he had previously worked for the club, had given the warden a piece of his mind and would be making an official complaint.
