Rubbish WiFi

I have stayed at this site twice this year, and the WiFi has changed. The first time needed a log in, the second time I had to pay, a £3 daily charge, so I paid my daily charge and NEVER got connected to the WiFi. Apart from that I had a lovely stay, it was quiet and peaceful and I’m disabled, the staff were very helpful, without being pushy, nothing was too much trouble for them. I went to Chester zoo and didn’t realise how big it was, I didn’t see it all, so I shall be returning to this site in 2023 to finish the zoo.

Don't bother

Recently spent a night here while in transit. Location is good next to motorway, site pleasant and peaceful. However this was the most expensive night of a two week touring trip which was hard to justify as site and facilities were average. The main problem was the wardens, check in when I was eventually served was a lecture of what not to do on the site, the warden had obviously given the lecture many times and it delivered without eye contact. This was after having to wait to check in while several customers who entered reception after us were served with staff taking money for ice cream and lollies. Overall were made to feel we were interrupting whatever the wardens wanted to be doing rather than serving us, for clarity this was about 1.30pm with check insurance from one. Certainly won't be back.

Lovely few nights, handy for outlet centre and Chester

Lovely site, clean facilities. Small dog walk where you can let them off lead. 30 min walk down main road to a large woodland for good walks. Main road is very very busy, worth crossing by the crossing just before the entrance road to site. Chester fairoaks shopping centre is a 15 min walk and you can get busses there to xoo or to Chester etc. Pub that does food 5 min walk from site. Fish and chip van was on site. Chester bus station was about 30 min ride from Chester Fairoaks.we walked around the city walls. Nice site very close to motorways

Thanks to my fellow members

Thanks to my fellow member who left a bag of dog poo on my pitch last night. Thanks to the gents who for several days now can’t be bothered to use a toilet brush. This is a fabulous site kept in immaculate condition by friendly wardens. I despair at the lazy idiots who spoil their hard work.

MAY 2022

Lovely site but a lot of noise from nearby roads. Fabulous pub The Rake (just down the road).

Absolutely brilliant

Having escaped the busy Lake District, it was such a pleasure arriving at this site! The staff were lovely, the facilities impeccable and the location great! We bussed it into Chester one day and Liverpool the next! There is a pub which serves great food 5 minutes away and a designer shopping complex (biggest in UK I think) which has everything anyone could want including dozens of eateries. We would not hesitate in returning 5 stars

Delightful site and staff

We were greeted by two friendly and welcoming wardens. The site was immaculately maintained with spotless facilities. Our pitch was level and a generous size. Plenty to see and do nearby including the city of Chester, Port Sunlight village, Liverpool and Chester Oaks (the latter being in walking distance). Would happily recommend this site and will certainly use it again.

Lovely site

Once you turn of the main road and enter site, it is a lovely site which makes you forget your just a stones throw from a big retail park. Good pitches and nicely kept greenery. Good secure dog area. Would recommend the Rake Hall pub/restaurant next door, nice setting and nice food. Also many other restaurants over by the retail park. Good location for Chester, delamere Forest etc. would highly recommended this site.

Jubilee bank holiday

Booked this site 9 months ago and got a great suprise when the wardens said they had booked a singer for the friday night jubilee celebrations. The heavens opened just as the celebrations were about to start but this did not put a dampner on the event as the happy campers just put there brolly's up and enjoyed the entertainment. Free bubbly and cakes were free flowing and the music was great, my wife danced non stop for 2 hours. The wardens done a fantastic job all night very entertaining. The site was immaculate as always. Congratulations to the wardens for the hard work they do here. We will be returning again next year. Keep up the good work. Dave & Marie

Gem of a short stay site.

Pros: Excellent reception from polite and friendly wardens. Pitches are large and well maintained. Toilet / Showerblock was spotless. Dog walk area was spacious fenced and secure. Location for Chester and Liverpool is excellent. Lots to visit locally. Cons: Access road is fast and has no paths so parents be aware. Motorway sound is obvious and may be off putting for some. On local flight path which again may be off putting for some. Toilet blocks closed daily for nearly 2 hours not always with available back up facility. Overall a very nice site. Will definately visit again.
