A September stay

We stayed at Cirencester Park this September. The sizes of the pitches varied enormously but we arrived just after 1pm on a Sunday and there were a good selection of pitches to choose from. We were greeted by a warden who remembered us from a visit earlier this year. As a partially disabled camper I found the wardens to be friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we had run out of Gas, and so had the site, but a warden came to tell us when the gas had been delivered, brought the bottle to our motorhome and connected it for us. The site is well placed for exploring Cirencester with easy access to the town through Cirencester Park. There are numerous different paths that you can take with your dog through the park. Plenty to do also if you want to go off site, including Westonbirt national arboretum, Chedworth Roman Villa, Tetbury and many other cotswold villages to explore. We have been to Cirencester and stayed for two visits of two weeks, and would definitely come back again as there is still more to explore.

Great location disappointed by the pitch

We visited Cirencester this August bank holiday and would say the site is in a great location as you can walk through the park into the town itself. The main toilet block is kept clean and there are plenty of showers. However I was disappointed by the pitch we had there are some great pitches but arriving at 3 on the Friday we where left with very limited choice, the hardstandings don't look cared for, the grass pitches around the small toilet block don't look much better, as the grass doesn't look like it's been cut recently, on our pitch I had to use the full extent of the leveling blocks to just about get the unit level, something I have never really had to do in 25 years of using club sites, this is also bearing in mind I am paying extra for a hardstanding. An improvement would be to state the days the food vans are onsite.

Great location

We stayed on this site a Couple of weeks ago and enjoyed how close to Cirencester park. And close to the town this site is. We were able to stroll into Cirencester in 20 minutes where we found ample good eating establishments. There is also a cafe in the park 300 meters away from the entrance of the site is also worth a visit We also enjoyed walking around Cirencester park which is a lovely place to walk around The site itself has nice spacious pitches and is relatively quiet although you do get a little bit of noise from the agricultural college next door (mainly at home time so not a problem) all the facilities are spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful We were touring around and actually returned to the site over the last weekend and again we enjoyed it even though the site was absolutely full it was still a very pleasant stay. I would just say that because of the pressure of booking in there was one staff member who is rather abrupt in their manner and tone of voice But it did not detract from our stay at this lovely site and we will be retuning soon.

Rude member of staff

Arrived on site Saturday and were handed a map with clear instructions and a diagram about how we should park, by the friendly reception staff. We found a lovely spot on a corner and following the instructions parked our caravan and car. However, on Monday we arrived home and I was relaxing in my caravan when there was a knock on my window. I looked up to see a member of staff looking in at me! I leaped up and came round to meet her. You have parked wrongly she said and I apologised feeling rather intimidated muttering that we had followed the map and instructions. She told me the map was old and wrong and that the cars now needed to be parked on the other side of the caravan. Don't worry she said "you can have your tea first but you must move it tonight". I felt like a naughty child! She then went on to speak to the other caravans who had also parked according to the map. I felt as though I had been reprimanded but I had done nothing wrong. There was no apology for providing a map and diagram that was wrong and making me move my car. The family parked next to me were also cross about her officiousness they had even shown her the map with the parking instructions that had been circled by the reception. I think some customer service training is definitely required. It lets down what is otherwise a wonderful site with very friendly staff. Please don't let her spoil it.

Up there with the best

A fantastic group of people run this lovely site. Pitches are generous, well appointed and meticulously maintained. A short walk takes you down to a busy shopping centre with lots of eateries quirky shops and pubs. Nothing negative to say about Cirencester. We will be back

Lovely Site

Large spacious site with plenty of shrubs and trees. Pitch was flat and well kept although the wifi wasn't all that good. Staff were very friendly with the exception of one lady who, on check in, was rather 'abrupt' and couldn't wait to get us out of reception and on to the next visitor - not a good first impression. However all else with the site was up to the usual high standard of the Club. The site is in a great location as others have said, right next to the Park and about 10-15 min walk into town. Roots and Seeds cafe 5 mins walk away. Lovely venue - if you are looking for a 'quiet' coffee this isn't the venue for you - great for families.

Peaceful

Had just a two night stop over to break our journey up, and pitched up on a corner not too far from the entrance, backing on to a row of trees. Spacious hardstanding with EHU and the amenities block a short distance away. Staff were very pleasant and the site and facilities were very clean and tidy. Piped music in toilets was a first for us! Plenty of space for everyone, it seemed, and the onsite shop came in handy when we fancied an ice cream and ran out of eggs. Easy access to the park, although we never walked in to town due to the weather being against us. Would be lovely on a sunny day though. Happy to return here and recommend to others.

Visit Aug 23

Just visited this site. The site itself is divided by some excellent wide pitches and some really small uneven pitches. I would say choose your pitch carefully. The mobile phone signal is very poor as was the Wi-Fi signal. The Wi-Fi was installed the day before we left. This gave a better reception but still very slow. Plenty of visiting food vans on site offering a choice of various menus different nights. The toilet blocks were clean and never busy you could always get a shower cubicle all morning. This may be due to the fact that they are closed for cleaning on an afternoon which is an excellent idea ! The dog walking area is very good with secure fencing around and plenty of bins. The site is ideally situated for a walk into Cirencester. You can walk through the Bathurst estate via the cricket club into town, dogs can run free through some of the estate. Note the gates close at 5pm to the estate so you need to walk back via the path/road. Some of the wardens were extremely helpful and couldn’t be more helpful thanks to Marion,Elaine, Phil and Sue and Ian the groundsman. The team I felt was let down by one member who seemed to take delight at telling people to move their cars, going around pulling out electric plugs if not of the correct length which is fair enough but not to let the people know only for them to find out when they returned to their van/MH and fridge starting to defrost etc. They also were letting everyone in the office booking in know that people would be told as they had spotted a unsatisfactory cable.. I felt this was a totally unprofessional attitude and let the team down. In all a very nice convenient site for touring the Cotswolds.

Fantastic clean site

We stayed here in July and found it to be a great site. It had really great facilities. The shower block was large and clean. The pitches were large. There was a path that took you straight into the park estate and to Cirencester. We enjoyed a trip to the Corinium museum and chedworth Roman villa.

Not ideal for us but there are many other reviews that rate it highly.

Although this site has plenty of trees which was very good, below the level of the tree foliage the park is very open. People were walking between and behind caravans to get to the shower blocks. This was very intrusive with people walking right next to our windows. It' a shame there aren't some strategically placed fences or hedges which would force people to walk via the roads; it's a shame people don't do this anyway out of respect for there fellow caravaners. There are a large number of dogs on this site, during our stay (end of July 2023) there was a lot of barking from about 07:30 in the morning and also late in the evening. Lots of nice places to see outside the park though.
