Convenient location for Cirencester

Located just off the A429 the site is easy to find. The access road is single lane with passing places and runs alongside the grounds of Cirencester college. During our stay there was very little disturbance from the college but that may differ during the year. It's a typical club site. The grounds are well maintained, the ammenities block, which looked fairly new, was clean and tidy. There's an area for dogs to be excercised and there is also a childrens play area; although this and what appeared to be most of the grass only section of the site was closed to units. Due, I believe, to the ground being waterlogged. The visitor car park was closed for the same reason. The site is extremely convenient for Cirencester and sits adjacent to the 15,000 acre Bathurst estate. The public are allowed access to a grounds during the day (8am to 5pm) and it's a pleasant walk through the park to the town centre. The town itself has all the facilities, attractions, shops and restaurants you would expect. Definitely come back again.

Great site in a fab location

We stayed here for 2 nights in our new motorhome in March 2023. It is a great site, check in was quick and efficient with a choice of pitches. Facilities were very clean and the location was the best thing, just a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Cirencester. During the day you can walk through the park which is beautiful, at night it is a easy walk down the main road. Later in the season there are food offerings on site but it was the first weekend of the year the site was open so nothing on site but plenty of choice in Cirencester. We travelled with our dog and the site is well set up for pets. As usual they need to be on a lead but there is a dog agility area and an off lead field area. Plenty of poo bins and even a dog washing area. We will definitely return here!

Cirencester in March

A short 2-night stay for a birthday celebration weekend away. Having negotiated the boulder edged narrow single lane track to the site entrance without mishap (you do have to question why the boulders are needed??) we were pleasantly surprised to find that the wardens were "fast-tracking" arrivals by getting you cleared away from the arrivals lane pretty pronto, with a cheery "come back and tell us where you've pitched when you're ready" message. The site was clean and fairly well maintained, albeit there were ground works evident with new hard standings being laid to site. The washroom was in good order with only a small amount of wear and tear evident. Our dealings with the wardens were pleasant and on the whole, there was a good atmosphere. Mobile phone signal was miserable (3 Network) but free-to-air TV appeared to be manageable. Ideally situated for an easy 15 min walk into Cirencester and Bathurst Great Park, we would look to return again.

Shame about the Staff

We had a most upsetting experience when we visited this campsite back in March last year. Within 30 minutes of our arrival one of our little dogs hurt his foot whilst in the dog paddock. It looked serious requiring veterinarian attention. I used my mobile phone to find a vet’s practice in the area and managed to obtain an emergency appointment. We had never been to Cirencester so had no idea where the surgery was and with having a large Motorhome and other dogs we decided that the easiest course of action was to get a taxi. My husband went back and forth to the office at least 4 or 5 times obtaining taxi numbers but was told it was unlikely that we would get one as there was a horse racing meeting and they would all be at that. We phoned 9 taxi services to no avail. We then asked if someone from the office could just drop my husband and the dog off, we even offered payment - no-one would! We were well and truly stuck with a dog needing urgent veterinarian treatment! As a last resort we asked a gentleman parked opposite who also had a car as well as his Motorhome. He very kindly dropped my husband and dog off at the vet’s and even refused to take any money for his trouble. Our dog had in fact broken his foot, he had an x-Ray, injection and was prescribed pain relief tablets. The surgery was literally 3 to 4 minutes drive from the site and my husband walked back carrying the dog in his arms having received a detailed return route from the vet himself. It was my 70th Birthday weekend and one I will vividly remember for reasons that could have been avoided due to the lack of empathy and help from the park staff.

Fantastic Christmas Stay at Cirencester Park C&MC Site

Stayed here over Christmas and the wardens went out of their way to be welcoming and very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. They visited us on Christmas Day offering chocolates cake and a festive drink! The site was clean well tended and the facilities kept spotless.Lovely walks in the neighbouring park, and just 20 minute stroll into lovely Cirencester, what is not to like. Thank you to the wardens! We will be back!

Excellent location

Just spent 3 nights here. Would like to say ‘thank you to the wardens for decorating the site so nicely for Christmas’. It was our fourth stay here and won’t be our last. Site is in an excellent location for visiting Cirencester and there are regular buses to other places. As always the toilets and showers were excellent. Well done to the wardens at Cirencester.

Ice and snow.

I stayed here at Cirencester club site during the recent snow, we had about 10cm of snow with temperatures of -7 The surrounding Bathurst estate was beautiful in the snow, I really enjoyed the walks. The friendly and helpful wardens worked tirelessly to keep things running. Some taps froze and the amount of snow on the roads was a challenge but the team we’re out spreading salt and I never saw any outfits in trouble.

Cold Weather advice

Please be advised if you’re setting off to Cirencester park club site, the entire camp sites has compacted snow and ice and some very slippery Ice patches. The reason I am putting this is, I called ahead and was told “ some snow on lane leading to the campsite, everyone has managed to get here ok” I would not of taken the unnecessary risk if I had known.

Convenient for Cirencester but dull

Fairly charmless site - basically a car park for travellers and with no privacy between pitches (the French do this so well) with the usual dreary warnings about rules and regulations dotted around. Basic facilities good, but they are basic, the best bit is the location being a nice 20 min walk to this rather lovely town.
