Beautifully set in nature

I think in the 18 years we've been members, this is the best site we've stayed at. It is set in woodland and each pitch feels private as a result. We are members because of cost and cleanliness but really aren't fans of sites that are set up in rows with not a lot of nature. I'm sure there are other places like Coniston and we just haven't visited them. We had a Robin greet us and kept popping in throughout the stay. The toilets and showers were immaculate and the wardens really helpful and friendly. It's a short walk down to the lake and if you walk to the right you can walk along the shores and also through woodland onto Torver common. Walking to the left and through Coniston Hall campsite, it takes 40-45 mins to walk into Coniston itself. Coniston only has a small spar and coop so I'd recommend bringing shopping if you have dietary requirements. It's a lovely place and we visited the Ruskin museum where Donald Campbells Bluebird is. We took a beautiful scenic route to Ulverston to visit the Laurel and Hardy Museum. A really fab place which brought back so many memories. We cut our stay short because the weather was rubbish and sitting in the caravan in the wind and rain wasn't appealing. I'd definitely recommend Coniston Coppice if you love a more natural park like us. No lawn mowers going was a bonus. A beautiful area and beautiful site.
