We arrived at a very busy caravan site on a Saturday afternoon for a 4 night stay. Maybe this was our first mistake. After driving round the pitch areas it was obvious to us that we were not going to be happy here. It was difficult to see where the pitches were as we could only find tiny ‘lay-by’ areas which were difficult to get into and close to the neighbours. We expected the trees etc but not the small pitches. With a heavy heart we decided not to stay and went to see the wardens who were fantastic. They understood what we were saying and recognised that their site was unique and not for everyone. This is a popular site as it is on the lake but as the wardens said it’s a bit of a marmite site you either love it or hate it.
