The Quiet Hidden gem

We have just come home from Dockray Meadow after a 4 Day break and had to write in to praise the efforts the wardens have put in. The site was immaculately maintained with a well mown and enclosed dog walking area, pitches were clean and weed free, the information centre was well stocked with local information with additional information available from the Wardens office i.e. Walking route etc. For the Dogs and Walkers in general there are routes out from the site such as the walk around Cogra Moss which takes about 1.5hrs at a steady pace( this is signed as impassable at the moment due to tree falls but we found it passable with a bit of clambering!) The site is in a great position for the North West lakes with easy access to Lowes water, Crummock water, Buttermere and Ennerdale. All in all if you like peace and quiet and walking this is a Great Site not to be missed. And for those who prefer towns etc. Keswick and Ambleside are only 30mins and 45mins away or you can try the coastal towns of Whitehaven, Workington and Maryport. All in all a great site which we will be returning to and I can highly recommend
