Lovely beach

This site has the potential to be a top-notch site. There are two factors that let it down. 1. The road - there needs to be some expense spent on fencing alongside the road in order to not have to watch the motorbikes that scream past plus it will help to deaden it slightly. 2. the rules - there are very polite notices everywhere telling you what not to do. They could be limited or put in the manual. Apart from that, it's a lovely site with a spectacular beach and the wardens did their very best to help us with any problems.

I’d not want to see a fence of the nature you describe along the edge of the site. It would rather spoil the open aspect and I’m not sure it would stand up to winter storms in that exposed location. I think you must have been unlucky if motorcycles were a problem but I’m afraid the publicity of the NC500 has brought unwanted rewards.

What notices regarding rules did you find unnecessary? I didn’t see anything untoward when I was there but I’m afraid many people ignore the rules and need to have things spelled out clearly. There is already guidance regarding rules printed on the reverse of the site plan but people simply don’t read it or choose to ignore it. For instance, the warden’s were fighting a constant battle to maintain pitch spacing on the two occasions we were there this year as people were pitching on the wrong side of the peg, straddling two pitches and generally doing their own thing. I can understand if the warden’s have found it necessary to try to reinforce the rules by adding notices.

I actually think it is a top notch site with any niggles down to the site users themselves.
